Who thought of posting little notes into the cracks of the Western Wall

All religious faiths have rituals which are meant to be an outward symbol of something which is inwardly meaningful.

Mocking another faith's religious practices, rituals or meanings is just ugly.

Rabbi Gedaliah of Semitzi visited Jerusalem and the Western Wall in 1699 and wrote the first recorded evidence of prayers being written down and left in the cracks of the Wall. The Wall became a popular destination during the 19th century as technology afforded more people the ability to travel the globe.

Jewish people believe that a divine presence rests within the Western Wall,, so they leave hand-wtitten prayers on scraps of paper (kvitlachim) and insert them in cracks in the Wall in the hope they will be answered. The Wall has been a place of veneration for Jews for centuries and now it is a must-see for most visitors to Israel as well as a popular destination for Israelis. More than ten million people visited the Wall and left notes in 2011.

None other but a Rabbi, now the Western Wall has become like a child's mailbox for Santa. I guess the angles in Rev come down and collect them and give them to the lamb.
Who thought of millions Muslims of throwing stones into a well in Mecca cause "the devil is down there". And would that before or after they stampede like jackasses?

Fair enough, but jews should not make fun of others since they also idolize the west wall and have superstitious rituals, also some want to begin sacrificing animals to God again.

Like the millions of lambs and goats you Muslims slaughter every Ramadan?

Do you know what happens after an animal is sacrificed?
It's eaten.
Feeling stupid yet?

Its the ritual that goes along with it and the meaning or it would not have to be done at a temple, it could be done in the backyard if one lives in the country, like pigs roasts for wedding receptions is what I think of, its for food , not food sacrificed to A God.

As opposed to "God" getting nailed to a cross?

Yes that was a ONE time thing. One huge sacrifice and it was over. No need for anymore. PS: He was the son of God.

Oy Vey! Once again Penelope shows her true love for Jewish traditions. Heh Heh!

Often, the biggest anti-Semites are fascinated with Judaism at the same time.

The only reason I know so much abut Judaism is because your books are in our bible, so yes my curiousity was raised. Also I'm not happy with the over 3 billion we give yous a year.

You don't know the first thing about Judaism. Don't lie to yourself.

So why do you put little notes in the wall.

Because we're out of magnets!

WTF do you care?

Talk about being ignorant.

The Jews don't idolize the wall. The wall is the leftover part of the original wall that used to surround the Temple Mount. It's what the wall symbolizes, not the wall itself. It's an important site since it's one of the only remains of the holiest of holies.

As Obama would say without a teleprompter, "B, b, b, b, b...bullshit!".
Christianity is a great religion when it comes to forgiveness.

Time to quit making fun of Christians or Muslims for that matter.

Yes Mary's statue symbolizes the Mother of Jesus. Yet you call that idolatry.

So do Protestants.

They idolize the bible, literally.

Nope; I have no idea where you get this.
Where have you seen people praying to a Torah scroll?

She has no idea, but it's a funny conversation. I want some of that stuff she's sniffing.

So how about the cannibalism and vampirism in Christianity then, you know the consumption of the body of your god along with the drinking of his blood at every service. That is ritualised to the extent that people believe the items are the body and blood of god and are holy in their own right.
By the way the Jews don't mock anyone else's religion, that is the domain of the Catholics and muslims.
