Wrong.
Free speech has NEVER been just relating to government.
It has never been legal to fire people based on their expression of political beliefs.
An employer can tell people to not bring up politics during work hours so that it does not reduce productivity, but that is all. If a person expresses political beliefs off works, they can not be fired for it, and never could.
That has always been illegal and always protected.

There are LAWS that state that bosses can't do things. That doesn't mean you have "freedom of speech", it just means you can't be fired for saying certain things.

If a person expresses political belief outside of work, and he gets fired, then the boss is on dodgy ground. But he still hasn't taken away someone's freedom of speech. The employee can try and sue for wrongful dismissal. Not because of freedom of speech, but because the boss fired him for something that isn't related to the employees job.

Only case one.

Why? Because freedom of speech is ONLY from the government.
Ivan made a joke about a person in the government and the government then locked him up for saying something. Meaning the government infringed on his right to free speech
In that case freedom of speech is ONLY from American government. USA does have the First Amendment which does not make American Society in 2022 any less Totalitarian.

Well, yes, if you're in America, then free speech is only when you can say what you like without repercussions from the US government.

Is the US "Totalitarian"?
No. Is it 100% free? No, nowhere is, 100% freedom is IMPOSSIBLE.

In every Totalitarian Society including USSR during Purges and China during Cultural Revolution, people were free to say say what they like without repercussions from the US government.

In a truly Free Society such as USA in 1980s, people rarely lost careers for political opinions. Only the most outrageous opinions resulted in sanctions.

Are you seriously making this argument?
Come back when you have something sensible to say.

No. Again, our freedom of speech protects from interference in our speech by government. Not individuals or businesses. You really should educate yourself.

Wrong.
While originally the Bill of Rights were only restrictions on government jurisdictions, that was no longer true after the 14th amendment.
And clearly you can NOT at all have a democratic republic if economic blackmail, like getting fired, could be the result of your political activities.

Depends on the state, if it has the ability for employers to fire without giving cause.
But if the employer says the termination is due to your political activities outside of work, that is CRIMINAL.

Definitely this is the case in several European Nations.

Maybe.
However whatever laws are in place or not, you simply do NOT have the right to free speech from your employer. You might have legal protections, nothing more.

We have other laws defining what are illegal grounds to fire someone.
