There is traditional Christianity and today's new, right wing Christianity.

The old Christianity wanted to help people, promote freedom, build a better country, support families, feed children, medical care for the sick and so on.

Today's Republicans say let them die. In fact, the only real difference between them and radical Islam is that America's right wing Christians are constrained by laws, thank God. Just like Islam, they want to kill the gays and don't believe in equal rights for women.

The Christianity today is all about helping people get away from oppressive governments, even when Rome was ruling back then. But once FDR started putting chickens in every pot, and had MANDATORY social security(TAXES) more people started being dependent on GUBERMENT and not God. But being that you are a stupid fucking liberal, you want to become a serf like those of England or German. Tell US that you don't want to be a slave to the government, and prove it by telling US what you do NOT want to rely on government handouts. Charity of the people used to help others, charity of the government just makes government officials very rich. Just look at Venezuela.
