They may not be. The DCCC has never done much in terms of recruiting candidates to run, especially in the South. They will usually line up donors behind whoever does get their nomination if they look like they could make a serious run for the open seat. It is still fairly early in terms of that facet. They will wait and see what their choices are and their chances are. They won't put their finger on the scale for one candidate over the other in the primary process usually. They rationalize it by saying winning the nomination indicates to them the quality of the candidate and their ability to raise money.
