Why aren't more people listening to BLM?

It's the way they are presenting their message. They aren't asking for a real conversation. Too many are violent and 'in your face.' We keep hearing from the left that America is a raccist country and we have a problem with cops. They paint all whites and all cops with the same broad brush and aren't interested in what any of them have to say.

Many would support them if they were reaching out in a way that would allow people to show more sympathy and a willingness to address the issue.

Instead, we see college professors all over the country claiming that whiteness is equal to terror and that cops cannot be trusted. The tone is accusatory, angry and vengeful. Then they wonder why people aren't reaching out to them.

There is no acknowledgment on the part of BLM that the majority of cops are good, decent people who don't target anyone.

They also refuse to acknowledge that many of the shootings that made national news were ccompletely justified.

It also means that the cases that should get attention and would anger people of all races aren't getting disccussed in a manner that would bring people together to stop this.

The left is doing nothing but dividing people and pitting them against each other. If you support cops, you are targeted as a racist. BLM is against cops and Obama is talking about government taking over police departments, as if that would magically erase the racism.

Racism exists in every walk of life and no one argues otherwise.

You can't have a meaningful discussion with anyone who calls for violence against others. Face it, no one will be willing to help those who frighten them. And, sorry to say this, but seeing people with their fists in the air condemning whites for a perceived privilege and calling for the death of cops don't deserve sympathy. Until they can act like rational people and communicate in a calm manner, no one is going to listen. Their method of "protesting" is turning people away and they are denying the innocent minorities the support they deserve.

They are hurting themselves and might even increase the risk of unjustified police shootings. Police departments all around the country are experiencing a shortage of police officers. Few are willing to take on a job that has been so vilified by the left. You become an instant target these days. Police on the job are more viligant than ever and some might even be paranoid. We've seen so many cases now of police being ambushed. It's putting them on edge and they are more likely to shoot if a person doesn't follow orders exactly. More than ever, police are on the defensive because they fear they won't make it home.

While we need to address profiling by race, we also need BLM to implore their supporters to stop killing, stop accusing all whites and stop with hateful rhetoric that pushes people away. It's making things worse. While most police shootings are justified, none of the police killings are justified. The groups are only showing us that they are nothing but thugs who think nothing of cold-blooded murder and I say that because they don't condemn it. Most are silent, but the loud ones are coming off like gang members and it turns people against them. And they target people because of their color or the unform they are wearing. That makes them far more dangerous than the tiny percent of racist cops who persecute blacks. The majority would definitely side with an innocent person of any color. The majority would support the innocent victims of police brutality. But, don't expect that support until the movement tones down their hateful rhetoric and sides with the good police.

We can't change things while this divided and angry. And it's sad that there are no voices of reason calling for peaceful talks and unity. Obama keeps talking about racist America and only increases tensions by doing so. Once people are divided by race, party or religion, all discussion stops. All trust is dissolved. While BLM is telling people not to trust any whites, how many whites are having trouble trusting blacks? Both sides fear that they are encoutering the worst people and no blacks will trust any whites or vice versa. Is this what we want? That's exactly what's happening. We are seeing some schools wanting segregation again.

Things have gone full circle. From the days of Martin Luther King wanting to unite all people and end segregation to divided people and the return of segregation.

And it's not because of a handful of dirty cops. It's the constant rhetoric from people like Al Sharpton and other radicals. They are the exact opposite of Martin Luther King.

they seek attention for the wrong reasons.

I remember reading their state of the union a few years back
All it was was entitlement.

They don't want any REAL change, because they are not about fixing anything. They are just whining. They can always encourage blacks to stop breaking the law and killing each other.

how will they know when they have accomplished their goal?

They've said it's too late to apologize or make amends. It sounds like they want revenge and if that's the case, I suppose they will have won when they are in charge.

Some are demanding total control of some southern states. It's all about separating the states and having their own country where they are the law. Pretty radical shit.

I have heard some people who were interviewed on the street and they were much more reasonable were asking people to stand together. The leaders of BLM and even Obama always sound accusatory and hostile. That mindset is divisive and they seem to want this racial divide to deepen.
