Both candidates have negatives. Biden should have announced early in his term that he would not seek relection. That would have enabled a better candidate than Kamala Harris to rise to the top.

Trump's hard core of cult supporters think Trump will somehow reverse historical trends they oppose. Christian conservatives fear the growing secularism of American society. This is cruelly ironic because the support of Evangelicals for a foul mouthed, dishonest, adulterous pagan like Trump is turning many young people against all of Christianity.

White blue collar workers think Trump will store the economic circumstances of the 1950's, when it was possible for a white man with only a high school degree to buy a house the suburbs and have a wife who did not need to work.
