Watched a report out of Modesto, CA today on CBS/Nora O'donnell. Their schools have replaced 50% of their school bus fleet with Bluebird EV buses--get this. They saved something like 45K gallons of diesel. LOL. Each school bus costs 345K--roughly 3X the price of a diesel (112K) or $200K. Hmmm, so they spent the cost of 45K gallons of diesel on less than TWO of their buses. By what was shown on the report, there were at least 20 buses--18 X 200K or 3.6M. Plus the infrastructure to charge. Not to worry though, most of those costs were born by the federal taxpayer and they are doing this all over the nation.I for one am eager to hear more of her thoughts about exciting yellow school buses.
