Wisconsin's Walker leads possible recall opponents; job approval up

They haven't even announced who he's running against yet and already CONZ are declaring victory.

Here's a clue about winning fights CONZ.
You WIN fights BEFORE you fight them. You don't pick a fight then hope you can win.

That's what IRAQ should have taught you obtuse morans. But learning from your mistakes isn't your strong suit.

Spelling isn't one of yours...

My favorite team is the one who plays the packers. I loved watching the Giants stick it to em. To think I was born in the state and have lived in it my whole 74, make that 75 in 3 days life. And I could care less about the money it brings in. So YES I do root against the Pack. Its all in fun though.

you're 74? you write more like you're 7.

MADISON – Gov. Scott Walker collected campaign cash from every state in the union and Washington, DC, during the past two months, compiling $4.5 million, campaign finance reports released this week show.

Big money, nationwide: Walker raises $4.5M recall cash in 50 states

Ahhh money. More class warfare. The super rich against the middle class. The middle class loses again and the Republican base cheer, not knowing they are also "middle class" ---> or lower.

And you don't think the unions aren't pouring in gobs of money from everywhere on the other side? You ever get tired of all the hypocrisy you spew all the time?

You tell us...

An Associated Press analysis of campaign finance reports Republican Gov. Scott Walker filed Monday showed 61 percent of the $4.1 million he raised during the five-week reporting period came from out of state.

Many of the contributions came from big donors, including $250,000 from conservative Texas financier Bob Perry and a total of $750,000 from three people in Missouri. More than half of Walker's money came from people who donated $20,000 or more, such as Michael Bidwill, president of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, who gave $25,000.

*******************************************************

Walker's latest efforts take advantage of a state law that allows targets of a recall to ignore the usual $10,000 per-donor cap and raise unlimited amounts until an election is set. Walker has been traversing the country raising money and speaking at gatherings of conservatives from Texas to New York and Tennessee.

"We haven't seen anything like this before," Mike McCabe, director of the government watchdog group the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, said Tuesday. His group's analysis of Walker's latest fundraising totals, which covered Dec. 11 through Jan. 17, showed that 33 donors gave between $20,000 and $250,000 for a total of $2.3 million.

***********************************************************

The Democratic Party and United Wisconsin, which worked together on the petition drive, reported raising $480,000 collectively since Dec. 11. Walker raised $4.5 million over the same five-week period

Unlike Walker's donors, most of those funding Democrats — 67 percent — live in Wisconsin.

What the Union is doing is to come up with a million votes to make it more complicated to count&verify the votes. Who are they kidding, this the left/union version of Bush's CHAD Debacle.

So?

I was responding to a poster who was alluding to out of state unions "pouring" anti-Walker money into Wisconsin so he could point his finger and call someone a hypocrite.. Based on my link in the last 5 weeks about $150k in out of state money supporting Walker's recall has come into Wisconsin. In the same time period about $2.5 million in out of state money has come into Wisconsin in support of Walker in large part from enormous contributions from single donors.

Try to keep up.

there is a major difference in degree...and where the money comes from. i kind of think that out-of-staters need to let locals pay for their own races. most of walkers money is coming from outside of wisconsin.

not much to do about that, so it's not that i'm complaining. i'm merely pointing out that walker's resources are pretty much limitless, unlike the big bad unions which get their funds from the dues of working people.

*edit* oh cool.. Art beat me to it. (thanks, art!)

MADISON, Wis. -- Nearly $44 million was spent on recall elections targeting nine Wisconsin state lawmakers after a clash over collective bargaining rights, and unions and conservative special interest groups led the way, according to estimates being released Tuesday.

The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign based its estimates on reports filed with the state and assumptions on how much was spent by groups that don't have to report.

Democrats beat two Republican incumbents in the recalls, falling one seat short of what they needed to win majority control in the state Senate. Democrats spun the results as a victory and promised to forge ahead with a recall of Gov. Scott Walker next year. There's also talk of more recalls targeting Republican state senators.

The recall efforts were fueled by the highly publicized debate over Walker's proposal that would strip collective bargaining rights for most public workers. Wisconsin's 14 Democratic state senators fled the state to avoid a vote, and the controversy generated national attention and widespread protests at the state Capitol in Madison.

The report found Democrats and their backers outspent Republicans $23.4 million to $20.5 million in this summer's recalls.

Outside groups outspent the candidates themselves $34.5 million to $8 million. The advantage for Democrats also was seen in outside spending, as they generated $18.6 million compared to $15.9 million for Republicans. "

From the HuffPo, must be true.

Only a total fool would assume that the dems and labor unions nationwide are not going to pour in money to remove Scott Walker, unless of course they see it as a lost cause and decide to put their money to better use somewhere else. And it is hypocritical as hell to point out how much money Walker gets from outside Wisconsin without mentioning the millions the unions have already poured in for the other side.

Thanks for reminding everyone of this.

Walker got an early start because he legally could. There will be outside money galore backing whoever his opponent is once that person has been decided. It will be poured into the local senate races also, just as it was this summer.

Only 10% of all workers in the US belong to unions. They don't have as much money as you were led to believe. Not very "wise", are you?

Unions from all over the U.S. have been and will be funneling money into my state to encourage people to wreak havoc here. 10% of America can do a whole lot of damage when they focus their resources on one state.

5 weeks? You take a snapshot of data that is most likely wrong in the first place, and you're telling me Walker is getting outraised 10-1? Good lord, man, you really want to draw conclusions or make judgements from that? I assume you saw the post I wrote about the amounts of money spent so far, do you really think it's reasonable to look at such a short timespan and why to do you completely trust the data? Do you realy think the anti-Walker crowd isn't going to match the money? Do you realize how ridiculous it is to try to say otheriwse?
