And earlier this year hairdresser Leila Alavi was stabbed to death with a pair of scissors in a shopping centre carpark by a former partner who too had a restraining order on him.

It has since been revealed this young hairdresser had been turned away from several crisis shelters.

So what’s the answer?

I don’t know for sure.

But what I do know is that I have two young daughters myself and at this moment I am absolutely terrified about one day sending them off into a world where every week in Australia two women are being murdered.
