Wood chips found in coffee

My wife found more than one piece in our last can of Folgers.

Well yeah. This was discovered back in the 70's.
I forgot what their excuse was though.

McDonalds uses sawdust as a filler in their meat.........well ONE of the fillers, anyway.

Sawdust is used as a filler in many food products.

Probably not wood. Probably stems from the plant. This is what coffee looks like when it's grown:

I'm guessing it is part of the stems of the fruit that carries the coffee bean as a seed. Kinda like how the dry bean sorter lets a bean sized rock through from time to time.

Poor Pinocchio. I told him not to fuck with that coffee grinder.
