Yes, elections have consequences....Here's one.

Our air and water are clean enough.

Only an ignorant, fuck head would say the above.....

The very idea that access to clean air and clean water is a "political issue," shows how truly fucked up we've become.
Only fools believe the EPA's primary concern is "access to clean air and water." Power is what they are aiming at.
Only fools are so cynical. Only those with decidedly shallow thinking, steeped in fear and suspicion, lacking a cosmopolitan outlook would subscribe to such vacant thoughts.

23 Environmental Rules Rolled Back in Trump's First 100 Days - The .

As majors parts of Texas and Florida are flooded, one of the many, many hazards facing citizens of those two states, is the contaminated water running down streets and into people's homes.

There has been a toxic mixing of reservoir waters with the waters contaminated by hazardous materials that were placed in ponds, streams and even some rivers.

Our beloved Trump has rolled back most regulations preventing the dumping of such hazardous, waste materials, and those citizens who once applauded Trump's "courageous" and pro-business stances, are now facing the repercussions of such policies. Parents have been told to not let their children play in such pollution and that if they do, to wash them thoroughly (and of course, with WHAT clean water."

Yes, elections have consequences and the price tag is mighty high.

The hazardous substances weren't "dumped." Hazardous materials aren't placed in the streams and rivers, although some slightly toxic materials will be placed in holding ponds. Hog, poultry and cattle waste is considered to be "hazardous," BTW, even though it's completely natural.

What regulation that Trump repealed would have prevented this?

It's kind of funny...this "natural" bit.

A lot of hazardous waste is completely "natural". Like radioactive stuff.

But not in the concentrations that are causing problems.

Define concentration's one of them is formaldehyde and your body produces it naturally

8. Overturned a ban on the hunting of predators in Alaskan wildlife refuges. April 3
WHO WANTED IT CHANGED? Alaskan politicians opposed the law, which prevented hunters from shooting wolves and grizzly bears on wildlife refuges, arguing that the state, not the federal government, has authority over those lands. Congress passed a bill revoking the rule, which Mr. Trump signed into law.

So Congress passed a law.....why is this in your list blow hard Nat?

Define? Not sure what you are asking.

The body produces tiny amounts of formaldehyde and it's necessary in the production of certain biological elements like amino acids.

On the other hand, concentrations such as is used in embalming is detrimental to life.

Our country has just witnessed two of the worst hurricanes in our history and the work of rebuilding shattered lives in Texas, Florida, and elsewhere has barely begun. Toxic cleanup will be a part of the work ahead.

This is an area dotted with oil refineries, chemical plants, Superfund sites, and coal-fired power plants. All of these structures represent toxic waste and contamination threats during the best of weather times; with storms, these issues become even more dire.

Spills and explosions have already contaminated vulnerable communities across the region. And as operations are restarted at industrial sites, toxic plumes with high levels of dangerous contaminants present serious new dangers. Houston officials have reported high levels of cancer-causing benzene near one refinery, with winds scattering the pollution.

Hurricanes Irma and Harvey Cast Spotlight on Toxic Sites in Our Midst

And how do any of these regulations being rescinded impede clean up from the hurricanes?
Kind of hard to clean up air and water that's continually being polluted by big business (and others) who by the way, benefited from the lifting of such regulations.

In other words, you have no clue

What does the above have to do with the polluted and hazardous waters in Texas and Florida?

Of course, most right wingers in Texas and Florida who voted for the orange charlatan, are NOT smart enough to connect the dots between legislation that helps polluters...and the crap that is now inside their homes.

Two huge, devastating hurricanes might have had something to do with that.

You obviously don't know what the hell you're talking about. Houston has the same problem as any other part of the country when there is a flood. Fuel coming from under ground storage tanks and submerged cars and trucks mix with the water, along with oils and other industrial fluids from cars and other sources. Then you have the raw sewage coming up from sanitary sewers and treatment plants. Then you have natural contaminants like colonies of fire ants, snakes and debris that can cause injury. No laws will have an effect on any of that. So you get zero political points for your propaganda, better luck next time. Thread fail.

There's something called Fixe's Law. Everything is toxic depending on dose

Respectfully, your angle sounds as if you are blaming the weather on Orange. During floods, contaminated water happens. It's simply the physics of water movement over places not normally submerged - pretty much a guarantee. Floods happened recently in my neck of the woods, and while off putting, contamination is temporary. I don't drink from the tap (most people shouldn't anyway), so the effect was minimal: I went from super-shitty water back to my normal shitty water in about a week!

A bunch of out-of-town morons around here found out the hard way that you steer clear of floodwater. They had a brilliant idea to try and traverse the river of water in their stock Kia 4x4 and instantly became news. If the floods are ascending upon your property, grab your loved ones, the important stuff you can carry, and get the hell up to higher ground. You can stick around and fight Mother Nature to your own peril. It's an exercise in futility. If you're insured, possessions are replaceable. If not, same.

That being said, Orange repealing environmental regulations isn't really breaking news. It's pretty much the M.O. for a person whose businesses consume vast amounts of natural resources. The crew Orange runs with see environmentalism as anti-capitalist.

It's naive at best to pretend some of the more powerful humans among us aren't self-serving and greedy. The environment is a global issue. If you need to see something that will make your environmentalism blood boil, watch "Flow". It's about the buying and selling of the dwindling amount of our world's water rights to a small cadre of international mega-conglomerate corporations. This sort of thing has been happening for quite some time, and there are no 'quick solutions' on the horizon.

Unless you have a regulation Mother Nature will abide by you're kind of fucked when your city is under 12' of water.
