61 percent of those surveyed still found patriotism to be “very important.”

50 percent of all those who were polled found religion to be very important.

43 percent of those polled described having children as important.

Medicare and Social Security, the ACA and public hospitals, do not meet the definition of Socialism, nor do local police agencies, public school employees, firefighters, prison guards or beach life guards.

The problem I have with all of the patriotism spew that's been so popular in media is that more people get it wrong than right. Too many people who throw the language around don't know what it means.

To be a patriot is to stand up to a federal tyrant and tell it to go hump itself. To defend the liberties he or she or they want to assume the power to take away from us.

Patriotism doesn't mean just just saying umkay and going along with everything the government says and does. It doesn't mean break out the Toby Keith record and send our sons, daughters, husbands and wives to go on a tyrant's errand in a desert some place on the other side of the world based on another government lie in order to get them there in the first place. The only freedoms they're being sent to die for are those of ExxonMobil and British Petroleum.

All that does is get you less freedom. Every single time. And much, much less dignity in many cases just to rub it in nice and good.

I think they did the best they could considering the times.
But the founders made what we know today to be "mistakes"

And we are willing to admit that in our history as a nation we have made other mistakes. Admitting your mistakes and flaws does not equate to hatred.

I think they did the best they could considering the times.
But the founders made what we know today to be "mistakes"

Under gold and silver backing of our currency all of that about the slavery issue and women's issue were correctable but under restraint. Under a fiat currency the eventual seeds of destruction were put in place. And here we are....
