Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were all legitimate military targets.
No, they weren't. Dresden was bombed when Germany was effectively defeated. Hiroshima was bombed when Japan was actively seeking terms of surrender. The city was spared from bombing just so the people in charge of the A-bomb program would have an unspoiled city to measure the effects.
My Lai was a war crime and the commander Lt. Calley was prosecuted for it.
By "prosecuted", you mean he had to spend three years under house arrest at Ft. Benning before Nixon pardoned him. The officers above him weren't punished (although it was a career ender for all of them) and the soldiers below Calley weren't prosecuted, either.
This proves that the difference between war heroes and war criminals is only the difference between winners and losers.
Although what he did was a normal practice for both the VC and NVA forces operating in South Vietnam.
Wow, dude, so you are admitting John Kerry was right? I mean, after all the shit people gave him in 2004, I think you all owe him a nice fruit basket or something.
I have a degree in history. The thing is, I understand the difference between history and propaganda.Germany was well known for "terror" bombing raids going back to the destruction of Guernica in the Spanish Civil War after it was declared an "open city" and was not defended and Warsaw also after it was declared an "open city". So you need to get off your high horse and learn some history.
If you feel good, you aren't reading history, you are reading propaganda.
We really don't have much room to criticize Hamas given some of what we are responsible for.
