Even without Trump attending one of the Wakes, this is getting very ugly.

He calls out two Councilmembers in particular:

“Adrienne Adams, Jumaanee Williams and their cohorts should stay home. They detest cops and have no appreciation for what they do. They should stay home and not pretend they are grieving. They have caused enough heartbreak and destruction,” SBA President Vincent Vallelong told The Post.

I find their response particularly tone deaf, because it's their politics that contribute to situations like this. They also didn't respond themselves, instead hiding behind the rest of the Council.

A council spokesperson said in a statement: “Our city is united in mourning the loss of a father, husband, son and public servant, whose life was taken by senseless violence. It’s unfortunate that some would rather use this tragedy to launch political attacks that seek to divide us.”

And before you think this is just about Dems in general:

Asked about the mayor and Gov. Kathy Hochul, the union boss said they would be welcome at the funeral, set for for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Massapequa.

“We all know who they are, we all know who the cop haters are,” he noted to The Post.

The issue is to define "cop hater".

Decreasing budgets and demanding accountability of ANY profession, especially police; is not being a "cop hater" in and of itself. I know about abuses by police and my demands for accountability and transparency in a dying system isn't because I inherently hate cops, I despise and resent abusers, especially when protected by cops.

I would need to know specifics as to why they view these politicians with such disdain before judging. However, my assessment stands above.

You've done well for a while now to steer clear of your paranoia against police. But alas, all it seems to take is a mention of police erratic behaviour.

Members of the council “who have declared war on the police” should be the ones put under the microscope, not the other way around, Vallelong wrote in the letter, saying the council should be “investigated for every legislative mistake and misstep they make.”

This won't be settled until another police officer attempts another 'Chauvin' type incident that will demonstrate that the police will decide on what is necessary force.

The legal outcome for officer Chauvin was an American tragedy, but it's not going to be the last word. All police forces of America must be prepared to act with determination on supporting the brave officer who gambles on using the 'Chauvin' method.

All that was missing for Chauvin and his accomplices was a little discretion on cameras being permitted at the crime scenel.

Whatever and whoever it takes. America's police need to be empowered with the right to break down doors without having to ask the courts for permission. Causing police to jump over hurdles when an active shooter is at word is just plain wrong..
It could be seen as granting the police extremist measures, but the political situation and the threat of terrorism from without, has come to demand it!

It's because the issue isn't local. It is trickle down socialism.
The left has declared war on our police. They can be defunded, thrown in jail or murdered. What ever it takes to get rid of them.
Want to commit a crime? Go to Pittsburgh. No cops after 3am.

Remember when Obama and Biden went after local cop shops taking away their "militarized equipment"... look at any FBI raid today... it looks like an episode of Platoon... M-16's full body armor tactical vics night vision goggles battering rams.... and full combat kits....

I can't say I'm opposed to the cops killing American citizens when their lives are endangered. That's where my preferences can't be in sync with what I would support in Canada.

Give America's police the resources they need to bring about law and order! Stop at nothing that can empower the police! It's preferable to martial being declared by Trump, to an American at least.

Trump never said he would declare martial law... he asked the governors to utilize their state national guards to stop the riots... something we in America have always done before... the more these blue state DA's allow criminals to walk the more militant cops will become.... keep them locked up... the cop that was shot was killed by a man with a rap sheet a mile long and was released early due to over crowding....
That must stop...
