3-year-old boy was shot in the head on the West Side and at least 10 others were wounded in shootings across the city from Friday afternoon into Saturday morning, according to authorities.

The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after he was shot in the 4300 block of West Monroe Street in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood about 7:30 p.m. Friday. Police said the boy was in a closet with at least one other child and playing with the gun when it discharged, hitting the boy in the head and leaving him in critical condition.

In other shootings:

• An 18-year-old was shot about 6:45 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of West 24th Street, just west of Washtenaw Avenue, in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side. He was dropped off at Saint Anthony's Hospital - a couple blocks away on California Avenue - and then taken to Mount Sinai Hospital - just a couple more blocks north.

It was at least the third shooting near the intersection this year. A couple weeks ago, a 16-year-old boy was shot to death on Washtenaw at 27th Street. A memorial for him remained outside the apartment building where he was killed, with one of the candles still burning into day.

He just picks and chooses wherever the most media attention is.
First it has to be a good place for Al to get the attention he so richly deserves.

As for Chicago....

Like a Roman historian once observed, "“They cared about the pebble in the shoe. Meaning, what affects them on a daily basis. They didn’t care about great victories in Spain, or in Germany. They cared only about the pebble in the shoe. Did the price of meat go up? Did the price of bread go up? Did taxes go up? That’s all they cared about. Did they have a job?"

Meaning, the black community (or the poor for that matter) are not concerned about who actually freed them, or what opportunities they may have (which most of them do not believe they have). They only care about which group they think will give them free stuff. Whatever meager rations they get, it is something.

That, is what they care about. They pretty much know (rightfully so) the conservatives are about personal responsibility and accountability. Those two words piss off those that are convinced they are victims of rich white right wingers.

Those that are convinced they are victims are what comprise the majority of the voting base of the democrats, who need to build their scapegoat and who need perpetually put out that message.

If only more whites, cops or otherwise, would venture into those dangerous black hoods to murder innocent people, gang members, etc. maybe the race pimps and their media cohorts would get interested in Chicago and other urban killing fields.
