y'all know what I am talking about,,,lastest estimate on needed vet work for our 12 yr old senior dog. We have an appt next Tuesday, I am just hoping he makes it thru the surgery and of course I will get the after care...he will mostly likely have a drain.

alms for the poor, alms for the poor

o honey hush I got a small car in him now....he lost an eye and has seen a canine eye specialist for over 4 yrs...semba is my hubby's dog...

hubby put 8 k into my doberman when I was broke...I wont put his dog to sleep over money...if he were mine I would consider his comfort more...but so far we are told he is good to go...I had blood panel done...I know there is a real possibility he wont make it thru the surgery but I have an excellent vet. hubby is getting ready to lose both his parents both under hospice in assisted care...I just cant make him lose his dog.

I feel you. I had an aussie that suddenly to me went blind one day and in the midst of all that I discovered a large lump. First there was the doggie eye specialist to reduce the fluid in her eyes and completely end her vision (glaucoma) and then came the surgery to remove all her breasts on one side all the way up. On the plus side, she handled it all far better than we did-- well up until she had to get the cone because she decided to start chewing out her stitches and I had to hold her down while the vet put them back in.

semba weaponizes the cone...esp to me..runs and hits my legs with the cone...hits the cats with it...but it think he will be out of it for a while after surgery

Bones, I spent between 16 and 17 thousand bucks last year on two back to back surgeries to remove some big ass lumps that grew on my good boy's hind leg, down near his paw. That's counting all of the meds and everything.

So it could be way worse.

But he's all better now...

he is a senior that concerns us a lot. I discussed with hubby if its cancer to let him go under general ...hubby acted shocked when I mentioned it later...he will slowly come around to reality....at that points its not money but the comfortable of semba

It's sad when they get old. There's just nobody in the whole world who will ever be as happy to see you when you come through the door. Ever.

today is the day....is the tumor cancer or just a fatty lump? why don't they do needle aspirations anymore? will my old man make it thru the surgery....remember semba is a tough dog...he lived thru the bear attack...losing him would be so hard..hubby is kinda shocked with the after treatment....most likely a drain....I told him I would take care of semba, hell its not like I sleep at night anymore
