"For much of the last decade, the Republican Party has branded itself as a champion of fiscal responsibility and the rule of law — while doing everything in its power to help rich people steal from the Treasury.

"Since taking Congress in 2011, the GOP has forced through a series of aggressive cuts to the Internal Revenue Service budget.

Frankly, the IRS doesn't need staff (with guns) to terrorize normal people. It's good to cut their ranks after their hideous abuse of power towards the Tea Party movement.

When the IRS cuts its staff, it no longer has the resources to go after rich parasites (like Trump). The tax burden shifts from those who report their income and those who work for a wage or salary. Meanwhile the parasites use shell companies to hide assets knowing all the while the IRS has no ability to conduct the sort of massive, long-term investigations required to root out rich tax cheats. Instead, the working poor are victimized by government's intense scrutiny associated with the Earned Income Tax Credit.

There are only about 160K people with wealth greater than $25M in the U.S. That's a ratio of 4:1 compared to the IRS employee base. They have plenty of resources to harass the Evul Rich people.

"The Cohen revelations aren't the first indication that Mr Mueller has been "zeroing in" on Mr Trump's business empire - something the president once said would be a red line the special counsel shouldn't cross.

"Taken with other reports, however - including that US attorneys in Manhattan have given immunity to long-time Trump Organization accountant Allen Weisselberg - it's clear evidence that the Trump business empire is directly under the microscope."

"In the audio tape of Michael Cohen and Donald Trump discussing the payment of hush money to Karen McDougal, Cohen told Trump, “I’ve spoken to Allen Weisselberg about how to set the whole thing up.”

"This seems to refer to the setting up of an anonymous shell company for the purposes of secretly sending a payment without any link to Trump.

"What advice did you give Cohen about setting this up?

"—Was setting up anonymous shell companies a regular practice of yours or of the Trump Organization?"

The 1% who have gained 270% since 1979 while the 99% have advanced no where, are not "normal people." And there was no abuse of the Tea party movement. The Tea party took advantage of a illegal law.

Impeach Donald Trump

"Starting the process will rein in a president who is undermining American ideals—and bring the debate about his fitness for office into Congress, where it belongs...."

"The oath of office is a president’s promise to subordinate his private desires to the public interest, to serve the nation as a whole rather than any faction within it.

"Trump displays no evidence that he understands these obligations.

"To the contrary, he has routinely privileged his self-interest above the responsibilities of the presidency.

"He has failed to disclose or divest himself from his extensive financial interests, instead using the platform of the presidency to promote them.

"This has encouraged a wide array of actors, domestic and foreign, to seek to influence his decisions by funneling cash to properties such as Mar-a-Lago (the 'Winter White House,' as Trump has branded it) and his hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue.

"Courts are now considering whether some of those payments violate the Constitution."

Trump's an ignorant/arrogant conman who never expected to become POTUS. He is currently the subject of 17 different investigations, and that number will increase dramatically since Democrats have control of House subpoenas.

He will bury the Republican Party for decades, and make fools of all those who were too blind, bigoted, or indifferent to see or admit his true character.
