I used some pandemic time to reread 1984. In light of current events, the following struck a nerve:

“All past oligarchies have fallen from power either because they ossified or because they grew soft. Either they became stupid and arrogant, failed to adjust themselves to changing circumstances, and were overthrown; or they became liberal and cowardly, made concessions when they should have used force, and once again were overthrown.”

The words I bolded typify how Democrat have responded to the recent violent rioting, destruction, and looting that has occurred across the United States.

Fortunately, President Trump provides hope that we will not (yet) go the way that George Orwell described. Our president is not shy about maintaining order with whatever lawful force is required.

For our country’s benefit, may God guide President Trump in all that he does – through January 2025.

Doubleplusgood.

Trump's playing Nixon's card: Law and Order. Trump left out a most important word, Justice. Law and order without justice is authoritarian, which is why trump never uses this word.

You cannot have the latter without the former.

Also, remember the riots at the Democrat convention that year caused by the far Left?

Nixon won.

Just a thought.

I appreciate your post more than you can imagine, largely because it provides hope.

Unfortunately for me, I'm a card-carrying pessimist. I look at the Democrats encouraging, abetting, authorizing the arson, the riots, the lawlessness.....and bowing down with those Kinte scarves, and the Republicans sitting on their hands, doing nothing, and see handwriting on the wall.

I'm thinking that civilizations may simply have a 'sell-by' date....and we've reached ours.

It was great while it lasted.

We're basking in the afterglow of a once great nation.

Who knows....we many have a few decades, or a few generations....

I don't anticipate Leftists/Democrats having an epiphany.

Here's the thing: the Leftists, the totalitarians are not rational, they are nihilists, they are like the scorpion in the fable:

A scorpion, which cannot swim, asks a frog to carry it across a river on the frog's back. The frog hesitates, afraid of being stung by the scorpion, but the scorpion argues that if it did that, they would both drown. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung the frog despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: "I couldn't help it. It's in my nature."

Amen.

The truly epochal irony here is how for decades the radical left bemoaned the rise of a right wing who would see into fruition with iron fists Orwell's vision on the backs of Western Civilization. Other authors have followed suit since then. Take Margaret Atwood for example. She supposedly based her Orwellian vision of an American dystopia on the so-called rise of the Christian Right during the 70's and 80's. Her seminal work is another glaring example of this grand deception perpetrated by the radical left where it accuses the Right of plotting to do what it is actually in the process of carrying out. To say that we've all been duped is epic understatement.

Take heart, have faith, PC. Our civilization does not have to fall. However, the time has arrived when in order to prevent its collapse we must fight. If our civilization was never worth fighting for then nary a one of us ever truly loved or celebrated it to begin with. War is terrifying; war is hell on Earth and much worse than that. Sometimes war is the only love letter we can write to our nation. God helps those who help themselves.

I sure hate bringing you down through my pessimism, nighty, but you must have tried to use experience, logic, truth on the government school grads on the board.....and millions of 'em infect our nation.
They are not knowledgeable, they are not patriotic, they are not brave.

Even worse, not only does the international Left, and it's subsidiary, the Democrat Party, own the schools and the media.....but take a look at the numbers of Democrat elected officials and judiciary.......

......with this result:

Soooo.......this is what you'll be voting for?
The Democrat Party is now running on full-blown anti-white racism, socialism, infanticide, opposition to free speech, substituting illegal alien voters for the American citizenry, arson, rioting, destruction of property, and anti-Semitism… the knuckle-dragging, atavistic pagan party.

Seriously, weren't you surprised that, after the doctors made the intermastoid incision, and removed your brain- you were still able to post on the board?

Perhaps.

You DO realize that Bobby Kennedy wouldn't waste spit on the Democrats of today.

Attention, leftists:

1984 was a warning, NOT a business plan.

The Democrats have adopted it as a mission statement.
Complete governmental control over every aspect of individual lives, criminalizing incorrect opinions, requiring people to report family, friends, and neighbors for even the most harmless transgressions, rewriting history...

Yup. You're right.

Funny. To the left, "justice" means "somebody else must pay for what I want".
