The Full Effects of White Racism

Affirmative Action.
Affirmative Action has helped whites more than anyone else. Specifically white women. But white race hustlers have been telling you how it was only for blacks and you were dumb enough to believe them.

So you could rag on us for cultural appropriation? I think not.
So you're scared to face what blacks live through but want to incessantly run your mouth about us.

Summing up, black activists admit that black people have mental problems, but blame it on white racism

Hum

AA has hurt white males

Which is what it was intended to do

No it has not. Nor was it intended to. It was made to stop white males fromdenying everyone else the same chances they had.

No, what you show us is white racists cannot handle reality, therefore they suffer from psychosis.

Sorry

What your wacko woke “experts” are saying is that blacks are screwed up but its not their fault

Why would I be? I'm not black and pretending to be one, wouldn't make me one. You two bit race hustlers think everything is about you. Very pathetic. Anytime you folks don't get what you want you blame racism. To the point most intelligent people don't even take that word seriously. Only the stupidest of white guilt monkeys are afraid of being 'racist'.

When I used to smoke cigarettes people used to always try to bum them off me, total strangers just walking by or whatnot. I wouldn't bum a smoke to any guy off the street, but only blacks accused me of being racist for doing the same thing I did to whites, Hispanics, Asians, and anyone else. Granted I was a sexist pig that would bum smokes to hot chicks of any race. Do you see why I don't care what two-bit race hustlers like you call me?

The only people hustling race are whites like you. You run your mouths about us and have not lived one second black. It is those like you, old, no account, ignorant whites who think everything revolves around you. Only white racists make the claims you make and only white racists run around calling everything racist. You have never faced racism and the problem with whites like you is that you're so ignorant of your racism that you do it without thinking then get mad when you're called on it.

I ain't talking about bumming cigarattes son, I am talking about a system that was built on racism and still maintains it. You have shown your racism in your postrs. So you have shown it elsewhere as well.

Racism is learned, right? The best teacher is experience. If you want fewer racists, you folks should act right. Stop whining and crying about your failures. Every white person in the country that isn't an ignorant white guilt monkey faces racism on a daily basis, from people like you.

Are you kidding me? Every time you start a thread, your race hustling race-baiting my people white people have, faced racism when MLK got. Shot they beat up every white person up north in the riots. I know people who grew up in bad areas and got beat just for being white, and you guys get away with spewing your racism openly. Nic cannon still has the mask singer job Mel Gibson had the kitchen thrown at him, and he has more talent in one finger than nick cannon has in his entire body, didn't spike lee say in the '90s how he wanted to shoot whites? Could you imagine Clint Eastwood saying that about blacks? His career would be over like that. You think everyone who doesn't kiss your arse is racist, and it is not true but what is factual is you are the ignorant and racist Chris Reeve went to Julliard was well trained is the gold standard for superman. And he couldn't get hired today because he is not black. Michael b Jordan is a bad actor. He overdoes it, but he gets to play the role because of his skin color, and they throw away a good actor in Cavill Luca Doncic deserved the MVP in 2020. But they changed the rules. So he was robbed of it, and if I wanted to go by your insane, logic I'd say your not white, so don't talk about white people! You are the type who went to see the hobbit in 2012 and got upset when you saw no blacks.

Reese the racism whites have practiced for 400 years has consequences. You don't seem to understand that. My logic is correct. And Yannis had superior numbers to Doncic. You see idiot, we live as black people in a white dominant society. Our survival in this society depends on us understanding white people. We cannot get a job, a grade, a place to live and most time food to eat without having to deal with somebody white. Whites don't have to do this and because of the fact they don't, they don't have to try understanding us. Reality is difficult for you, but that's what you get when you live your whole life beliecing the lie that just bcause your skin is pink, it makes you, better, smarter, more industrious, etc., etc.

“Racism burdens Whites by silently holding us up as the standard of excellence, leaving few excuses available to the majority of us who don’t measure up. It burdens us with a narrow bandwidth of options for how to be – White or otherwise. It burdens us with our own suffering, since no one seems to sympathize when our lives are difficult. Racism coddles Whites by not requiring us to learn what all people of color must do to survive – how to live in multiple worlds, speak multiple languages and quickly navigate complex realities. It coddles us by making us too fragile to fully hear, understand and receive what people of color are saying, much less take responsibility for our part. It makes us too fragile to talk with people or color in any way that doesn’t meet our standards of comfort and familiarity, much less tolerate being in groups where we are the racial minority. These are skills people of color utilize almost everyday, and in some respects makes them more resilient, creative and intelligent than us.”

Luka is better than Giannis. He averaged more points than him last year and in the postseason. Blacks, play dirty and injured Luka to beat him, and Luka got tossed from some games in 2020. You can't say Giannis is better than Luka. It is laughable. He won that MVP with some help from the refs and that last-minute rule change. Luka, was not even a finalist for the MVP? Every day with and your obtuse white privilege arguments, and honestly, I counted about eleven or twelve writing errors on your end. So refrain from calling anyone an idiot because your writing makes you look like a fool!

Spoken like a true racist because you have to deal with whites. Work for a black owned business, earn a good grade and you receive it, are you homeless? Cook your own food or buy from a black restaurant, since you hate dealing with white people.

The Full Effects of White Racism

Racism is an organized social system in which the dominant racial group, based on an ideology of inferiority, categorizes and ranks people into social groups called “races” and uses its power to devalue, disempower, and differentially allocate valued societal resources and opportunities to groups defined as inferior. Race is primarily a social category, based on nationality, ethnicity, phenotypic, or other markers of social difference, which captures differential access to power and resources in society.

David R. Williams, Jourdyn A. Lawrence and Brigette A. Davis

“Abuse is a form of mistreatment by one individual that causes harm to another person.”

National Adult Protective Services Association

“Bryant-Davis and Ocampo (2005) noted similar courses of psychopathology between rape victims and victims of racism. Both events are an assault on the personhood and integrity of the victim. Similar to rape victims, race-related trauma victims may respond with disbelief, shock, or dissociation, which can prevent them from responding to the incident in a healthy manner. The victim may then feel shame and self-blame because they were unable to respond or defend themselves, which may lead to low self-concept and self-destructive behaviors. In the same study, a parallel was drawn between race-related trauma victims and victims of domestic violence. Both survivors are made to feel shame over allowing themselves to be victimized. For instance, someone who may have experienced a racist incident may be told that if they are polite, work hard, and/or dress in a certain way, they will not encounter racism. When these rules are followed yet racism persists, powerlessness, hyper vigilance, and other symptoms associated with PTSD may develop or worsen (Bryant-Davis & Ocampo, 2005).”1.

Monnica T. Williams Ph.D.

Tremendous psychological damage has been inflicted on nonwhites because of the racist policies and individual actions by whites in America and worldwide. But some whites seem to think that racism is simple and that it carries no psychological consequences to those who are the victims of it. They do so because they see nonwhites coping the best way they can with it. Secondly, they tend to look at things based on their perspective, meaning that when they see blacks acting violent they look at it from their experience as whites, never factoring in the damage at every level caused by past and continuing white racism.

“On occasion, the emotional weight of racism can lead African Americans to engage in maladaptive coping, such as remaining in denial, engaging in substance use, aggression, self-blame – even in extreme cases suicide (i.e., Black Lives Matter activist Marshawn McCarrel) and terrorism (i.e., Dallas shooter Micah Xavier Johnson). These responses are harmful and lead to negative, long-term consequences.”

Monnica T. Williams Ph.D.

It is important to understand these realities. If not, then eventually you are going to end up with a chain of black and other nonwhite mass killers because people ignore the psychological damage created by racism.

Many outside of the African American or other non-white communities do not seem to understand to what extent racism can drive a person to unhealthy and societally negative behaviors. Reality dictates that emotions are involved in this matter and there is a very wide spectrum of emotions people will express in such situations. To understand the dual standards in such thinking, white people have used drugs and became addicted to them to escape a bad situation, but when it comes to blacks or other minorities and drug use, there is no excuse for “you people” to get strung out. While a white person can get addicted on pills and claim they did so to escape the pain of abuses they have endured, blacks or other nonwhites can’t say how they have endured racism and are addicted because of the pain that causes. Instead it is a failure of an inferior culture.

“The Boondocks” is an animated show about a black grandfather who was charged to take care of his 2 grandchildren. One of the characters in the show is a blue-collar black man named Uncle Ruckus. Uncle Ruckus held white supremacist views and despised everything about being black. In fact, he disliked being black so much, that he claimed to be Caucasian. Uncle Ruckus is an example of a person with internalized racism. Internalized racism is defined by Dr. Karen Pike as, the "internalization of racial oppression by the racially subordinated." In a study titled “The Psychology of Racism”, Robin Nicole Johnson points out that internalized racism entails both "conscious and unconscious acceptance of a racial hierarchy in which whites are consistently ranked above people of color." Blacks who suffer from internalized racism believe and promote negative stereotypes of their own race. They will adopt white beliefs and thinking. This is the literal meaning of acting white and it has nothing to do with getting good grades or going to college.

“The dominant group [whites] control the construction of reality through the production of ideologies or “knowledge” (Foucault 1977 [1975]) that circulate throughout society where they inform social norms, organizational practices, bureaucratic procedures, and common-sense knowledge. In this way, the interests of the oppressors are presented as reflecting everyone’s best interests, thereby getting oppressed groups to accept the dominant group’s interests as their own and minimize conflict (see also Pyke 1996:529).”

Dr. Karen Pike

Internalized racism reinforces racism. Internalized racism keeps racism alive. It creates a justification for racism. This acceptance of white supremacy as the norm leads to conclusions that racism is not a problem, or that it does not exist. As this happens, people in racially oppressed groups internalize the validity of their own oppression. Because they have done so they find no reason to question or fight the system.

These types will argue how racism would be no problem if blacks had fewer fatherless children, or about drug use and how a violent criminal culture exist in these communities but can never explain why unless they recite a white centered explanation that comes from a place with no practical understanding of what it is to be black in America. They refuse to argue the implications of racist policies and the damage these policies have created because to do so will not be acceptable in the social circles they desire approval from. This explains a number of blacks who have been allowed into the national discourse on race who are primarily conservatives.

Findings from large-scale national studies indicate that, while African Americans have a lower risk for many anxiety disorders, they have a 9.1% prevalence rate for PTSD, compared to 6.8% in Whites (Himle et al, 2009). That means that almost one in ten Black people becomes traumatized, and I think these rates may actually be higher since diagnosticians are usually not considering the role of racism in causing trauma (Malcoun, Williams, & Bahojb-Nouri, 2015).

Dennis R. Upkins

I am no expert on PTSD. What I have been told is that when a person has this disorder there can be events that trigger the old terror the individual went through due to the past abuse. Therefore as people of color continue to see acts of racism in all the various iterations, it is important to recognize how these events trigger a reminder to people of color of the bad experiences they had due to racism. It is even more important to understand what triggering those bad experiences mean in terms of behaviors might arise or resurface, instead of making racial judgements.

“Why I just can’t believe that white racism caused those black people to riot and burn up their entire community.” Another coping mechanism is self-destructive behavior. Not all coping mechanism are good. Therefore it is vital to end the events or stressors that make people adapt by using various coping mechanisms. There also positive mechanisms whereby blacks will use racism as a motivator to achieve things that the dominant group has refused to allow blacks to do. I will not say that racism motivate Barack Obama to get to the point where he was able to run and succeed in becoming the first black president in America, but I wouldn’t be surprised if racism motivated him to have the internal drive to refuse to be stopped.

The great Michelle Obama has spoken about the toll consistently living with racism takes upon black people by detailing her own battle with low grade depression. On August 6, 2020, the governor of Michigan declared racism as a public health issue by an executive order. This is an important development. The Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice and Health defines Public Health as “the collective efforts of a society to create the conditions in which people can be healthy.” The World Health Organization defines it as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” These definitions when applied to racism places it on the list of public health issues. As such, a comprehensive and holistic program or policy must be implemented to address the healthcare needs of individuals facing racism.

Racism causes chronic stress. Understanding this has serious implications for health outcomes in the black community. While I am not a doctor, what I have read by medical professionals explains how constant stress will create unhealthy outcomes. The continuing racism blacks face keep blacks stressed out and creates chemical imbalances within our bodies causing a wide variety of health problems. There is increasing evidence supported by research that shows racism shortens lives. On June 3, 2020, SAMHSA’s Office of Behavioral Health Equity published a report titled, “Trauma, Racism, Chronic Stress and the Health of Black Americans.” It was published due to a request for help in addressing trauma caused by racism. In the summary of what they found was that racism contributed to mental health and chronic health problems.

“Racism and associated trauma and violence contribute to mental health disorders, particularly depression, anxiety and PTSD, and chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, maternal mortality/infant mortality and morbidity in African Americans. Racism is considered a fundamental cause of adverse health outcomes for racial/ethnic minorities and racial/ethnic inequities in health. The primary domains of racism - structural/institutional racism, cultural racism, and individual-level discrimination— are linked to mental and physical health outcomes. Racism and violence targeting a specific community is increasingly associated with complex trauma and intergenerational trauma, all of which have physical and behavioral health consequences.”

Racism is a stressor that triggers the body into allostasis, or better understood, racism forces the body to adapt to stress. Allostasis is the process that helps us adapt to stressors. “Exposure to stressors activates the sympathetic-adrenal-medullary axis (SAM) and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. SAM releases the catecholamines epinephrine and norepinephrine from the adrenal glands. Meanwhile, the HPA releases glucocorticoids, like cortisol, which are steroid hormones.” Allostatic load is compiled damage to the body as an individual is exposed to constant stress. For example, allostatic processes lead to increases in blood pressure, which is a defined health risk. Allostatic overload is when the collective effects of stress lead to health problems and death.

Studies show that allostatic overload created by stress caused due to constant exposure to racism increases the occurrences of myocardial infarction in blacks. Simply put, a myocardial infarction is a heart attack. In 2014, “Structural racism and myocardial infarction in the United States”, a study by Alicia Lukachko, Mark Hatzenbuehler, & Katherine Keyes was published in Social Science and Medicine Journal. What they found as result of their study was not only that racism increased the occurrence of myocardial infarction for blacks, but instances of myocardial infarction were reduced for whites.

“This study demonstrates adverse effects of structural racism—specifically state-level racial disparities disadvantaging Blacks in political representation, employment, and incarceration —on past 12-month myocardial infarction. These adverse effects, however, were specific to Blacks, and among Whites, indicators of structural racism appear to have a benign or even beneficial effect on cardiac health. It is important to note that individual-level risk factors including age, sex, education, income, and medical insurance do not account for these findings. Furthermore, lending support to the construct validity of our measures of structural racism, the effects persist above and beyond those of state-level racial disparities in poverty.

Measures of structural racism pertaining to job status did not follow the expected pattern of association, and were inversely associated with myocardial infarction among Blacks. While this finding was unexpected, it is in line with results from previous studies that have documented that Black Americans in high status positions report greater exposure to interpersonal discrimination (Paradies, 2006). This increased exposure, coupled with potential pressures to assimilate and to defy negative racist stereotypes, may in turn place high status Blacks at greater risk for adverse health outcomes. Our results similarly suggest that Black Americans in states with greater representation of Blacks in high status positions are at higher risk for heart attack.”

Alicia Lukachko, Mark Hatzenbuehler, & Katherine Keyes -“Structural racism and myocardial infarction in the United States”

Racism is more than just a slur. It is an abusive behavior that causes lifelong harm to the victims of racial abuse. Racial abuse can lead to self and societally destructive violent behavior. Racist whites led by former President Donald Trump, ran their mouths loud and long about the looting and rioting they falsely blamed solely on Black Lives Matter during the summer of 2020. Those blacks that did commit such acts are prime examples of what happens when people are continually racially abused or see instances of such abuse. The murders of George Floyd, Brianna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and others triggered a reminder to people of color of their bad experiences in America due to racism. Now is the time to understand the damage 400 years of racism has upon blacks and upon the United States of America.
