THROMBOSIS is a blood clot (not moving blood clot to be specific)
Strokes are caused from lack of blood/oxygen to the brain.
Ergo Thrombosis blocking blood flow (which carries oxygen) to the brain causes strokes (basically cut blood supply to the brain) PUMPKIN.

If the Thrombosis moves around, it becomes an EMBOLIS (moving blood clot)
which typically find their way to the the Lungs ( aka pulmonary) creating a PULMONARY EMBOLISM
