40,000 Americans killed by Gun Violence last year

SUICIDES don't count as significant as the suiciders kill themselves . And the rest , how many were Criminals or associates of criminals involved in Crime . As to the rest , sorry to hear it but there are about 320 million in the USA that weren't killed by guns last year JLaw .
“SUICIDES don't count…”

Behold the reprehensible right.

More people died from firearm injuries in the United States last year than in any other year since at least 1968, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There were 39,773 gun deaths in 2017, up by more than 1,000 from the year before. Nearly two-thirds were suicides. It was the largest yearly total on record in the C.D.C.’s electronic database, which goes back 50 years, and reflects the sheer number of lives lost.

Oh, wait...

"About 70,000 people died from drug overdoses last year — almost double the number that died from guns, the health statistics center reported."

So, deaths from drug overdoses increased more than shootings?

More than a million Americans, and more than forty million people worldwide, died from abortions last year.
Red herring fallacy, the thread is about gun deaths.

That you and others on the reprehensible right engage in failed attempts to deflect comes as no surprise, of course.

Nearly two-thirds were suicides.

Dems finally figured out Hillary lost?

also sounds like gangbangers are acting up more.

Got a better breakdown?

Oh, wait...

hmmmm

get rid of guns, or get rid of drugs

what to do, what to do.....
This is as ignorant as it is ridiculous and wrong.

The issue of gun deaths can be addressed having nothing to do with regulating firearms.

I just mentioned the statistic and made no comment. You're the one who mentioned getting rid of guns. Why is that?

doesn't take a genius to see where you were going.

same ole, same ole
Yet you’re the only idiot lying about ‘getting rid of guns.’

If someone commits suicide with a gun, they should not be allowed to purchase a firearm.

The higher the rate of gun ownership the higher the rate of suicide:

10 Essential Facts About Guns and Suicide

Suicide is a personal choice.

I'd much rather someone take their life with a gun than by putting other people's lives at risk in a vehicle or by jumping in front of a train.
Suicide attempts by jumping is about 1% of all suicides. Jumping in front of a train is probably .0000001% of all suicide attempts.

Your subjective opinion is thankfully irrelevant.

Ah yes, everyone lies about gun statistics. Apparently gun math is 'emotional, and no one can be trusted to COUNT. Including DOCTORS, COPS and even statisticians.

40,200 died in car accidents We should ban cars!
72,000 died from drug overdoses,we should ban drugs!
Preventable medical errors killed 400k people in 2017! We should ban doctors, hospitals, medicine etc etc!

Excluding most suicides, at least 15,549 people were killed by guns in the United States in 2017

So 25k of those were SUICIDES! Damn we should ban suicide!

Yes, because cars are DESIGNED TO KILL. Maybe yours is. Mine is DESIGNED to get me from point A to B.

Drugs are DESIGNED to kill and I guess the doctors who subscribe them are too.

Stupidest fucking arguments postured over and over and over. And the double digit IQ set continues to make them post after post decade after decade. They don't get it and NEVER WILL.

And note that a large number of gun deaths were suicides.

Then the majority of gun owners, (about 99%), are misusing them.

Guns are designed to propel a projectile out of a barrel via explosive combustion.

What they do is dependent on the person using them.

And yet something that wasn't designed to kill people, kills more people.

Most are by suicide, a fact the left conviently ignores.

Question for the left, if it's simply "deaths" that you're concerned about, why aren't you guys starting one thread after another about opioid desths ? Automobile deaths ?

The truth is, the left are not concerned about the # of deaths by firearms. What's really going on here is the left do not want the people to have the ability to challenge the government by means of force. They do not want the individual to have the right to protect and take care of themselves.

They will start threads like this in hopes the heartstrings of others will be tugged sufficiently enough to get others on their side.
