40,200 died in car accidents We should ban cars!
72,000 died from drug overdoses,we should ban drugs!
Preventable medical errors killed 400k people in 2017! We should ban doctors, hospitals, medicine etc etc!

Excluding most suicides, at least 15,549 people were killed by guns in the United States in 2017

So 25k of those were SUICIDES! Damn we should ban suicide!

Yes, because cars are DESIGNED TO KILL. Maybe yours is. Mine is DESIGNED to get me from point A to B.

Drugs are DESIGNED to kill and I guess the doctors who subscribe them are too.

Stupidest fucking arguments postured over and over and over. And the double digit IQ set continues to make them post after post decade after decade. They don't get it and NEVER WILL.
And guns are designed to DEFEND ourselves and our families from criminals and the government...especially when 1 becomes the other.

There are those who advocate a ban of firearms in the U.S.. They ignore the results of two highly publicised bans Prohibition of alcohol during the early twentieth century and the Prohibition of some drugs during the late twentieth century. Both were abject failures that encouraged and promoted illegal activity and the flouting of the law. What is the answer? Experience points to probition agravating the problem not solving it. Feel good law only feelsi good for a very short time.

More people died from firearm injuries in the United States last year than in any other year since at least 1968, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There were 39,773 gun deaths in 2017, up by more than 1,000 from the year before. Nearly two-thirds were suicides. It was the largest yearly total on record in the C.D.C.’s electronic database, which goes back 50 years, and reflects the sheer number of lives lost.

Nearly 40,000 People Died From Guns in U.S. Last Year, Highest in 50 Years

There is nothing to add. The statistics speaks for themselves.

It is all good, because they were all killed by a well organized militia.

Those who might advocate for a ‘ban’ of firearms constitute such a tiny minority as to be irrelevant and virtually non-existent – in essence no one advocates for a ‘ban’ of firearms.

And continuing to do nothing to address a serious problem, to the extent of ignoring that problem, is just as insane.

The fact remains that there are measures that can be taken to address the issue of gun deaths and violence having nothing to do with the regulation of firearms.

To not seek out and implement those measures is the consequence of apathy, intellectual laziness, and unwarranted fear.
