50 degrees in San Fransisco? Where is that deadly heat?

Hilarious
CLIMATE CRISIS II 2022.gif

Quasar lives in Phoenix. He's not complaining.

I live there too.

It's been hotter. What they are whining about is that we've had sustained days above 110 (longer than usual) without a break.

It's still fine here. Gets down to 90 F at night.

Pool is not all that refreshing But it's still nice.

Nice link. The first thing this link explains, or what one can deduce, is that there was no temperature records broke. They devised a new record as a scare tactic. Now we will record how many days in a row, the temperature was hot above a certain threshold.

All the deaths from heat can be prevented? That means they were accidents, not technically deaths because it was hot. If a man jumps off a bridge into traffic we don't know say, "traffic killed man". We state, "man committed suicide".

18 deaths, 4 died inside with no air conditioning. That leaves 14 deaths to investigate, people should have swamp coolers or air conditioning and plenty of lemonade.
“We truly believe all these heat-related deaths are preventable,” said Dr. Nick Staab
four died indoors in cases with “nonfunctioning” air conditioning or units that weren’t turned on.

Further investigation shows only 4 people died indoors, the other 14 were all outside.
just four reported indoors
One death was a 73 year old man riding his bike in Buckeye! Now that seems outright, pure stupidity! How much water can a 73 year old man carry on a bicycle. Answer, not enough. In heat over 110?
73-year-man who got a flat tire Sunday when he was bicycling in the desert outside the Phoenix suburb of Buckeye. He told his family that he would walk to a nearby fire station for help but died before he could get there.

Have you ever heard the phrase "victim-blaming"?

There is something mighty fishy going on. I am hearing all these high temperatures but when I check the temperature in San Fransisco they have what must be a record low. It will be 50 degrees in San Fransisco tonight. Cities are mini hotspots.

It is obvious, the news is only reporting weather stations which are located just off the runway of an International airport or Death Valley.

It's over here in Texas.

Yes, that is used in crimes such as rape. We are not going to prosecute the heat, although it would not surprise me if you did.
The dead and suffering are being blamed for being too poor to afford air conditioning or homeless or too elderly or too young. That is the victim-blaming in this context.

No, that is how they died. Outside, exposed to the heat, without enough water and ice.

If you are going to live in the Desert, you best be ready.

It is also not the responsibility of the government to ensure that everyone is drinking water.
The homeless die, every day, every week, when it is hot out the DemoRATs use the dead as propaganda for their cause.

I realize that is how they died. Do you realize that all this is in response to HikerGuy's contention that everything was just fine in Phoenix?
If you are going to live in the Desert, you best be ready.
Yes.
It is also not the responsibility of the government to ensure that everyone is drinking water.
I had a look at the Arizona constitution - a surprisingly bloody-minded screed - and failed to find what I was looking for: some sort of analogue to the US Constitution's preamble's "general welfare". So I won't push it, but it can easily be argued that one of any government's prime responsibilities is the general welfare of the population.
The homeless die, every day, every week, when it is hot out the DemoRATs use the dead as propaganda for their cause.
And this statement looks like you doing precisely the same thing. It's a pretty sad fucking world when we criticize folks for working to save lives.

This is an impressive list. I'm glad their are so many folks doing this sort of thing. It would be nice if the federal, state and local governments did a little more of it, but I won't complain. I haven't looked but I'd be very surprised if the Florida and Wisconsin locales where I reside have that much to offer.
