60 Percent Of Americans Soon Will Live In States With Marriage Equality

It is time to get the government out of the business of "marriage".

Yeah, you get on that. I'm sure it'll be real popular. You should call your congresscritters.

So to the far left the "separation of church and state" was just a tag line.

Knew that one..

It is separate. Civil and religious marriage are two entirely different things.

Nope! Far left propaganda.

Really? Then you can name all the churches that have been affected by marriage equality rulings?

Once again the far left is missing the point and continues to show that they rely on programmed talking points.

You can get married now if you want, they are churches that will do it.

Just goes to show the far left does not know what they are talking about..

That is a pipe dream at best, though I do like the spirit of the idea; however, there isn't a single serious push for that happen in any state house across the nation. I have often wondered about those that claim to want the government out of marriage if they are still accepting all the benefits and tax breaks the government provides to married couples? It seems a bit hypocritical to claim the government should stay out all the while taking advantage of all the benefits and tax breaks.

If you want a marriage in which the State plays no role....you can have one right now.

If you want a marriage in which the State protects your rights and privileges.....you can have one right now.

Sounds like a win-win for everyone.

"Marriage" is not a right!

SCOTUS disagrees.

Yes a far left blog site that does not support your foundation does not help.

Although this is has been pointed out time and time again.

Actually there was when it came to people being able to privatize their retirement/Social Security.

However the far left would not have any of that.

Also do you think a single woman with a child will get more breaks or less breaks as well as government help over a married couple?

They also do not call it the "marriage" penalty tax for nothing.

More then likely but she will not be entitled to the other range of benefits and tax breaks that only married couple can obtain.

Yes we can. What we don't have equal access to is civil marriage. Get how they're different?

Loving v Virginia, Turner v Safley and Zablocki v Redhail.

Search the texts of those rulings for "Fundamental Rights".

Ok list all of those then..

"Marriage" is not a right!

Says you. The SCOTUS says it is a right.

Guess who the courts are going to listen to?

It is not a right!

Just like driving is not a right!
That is your opinion and has zero bearing on our legal system and precedent. The courts have ruled marriage a right on 14 different occasions. Can you name a single case where the courts have ruled driving a right? They never have, marriage on the other hand...

Wrong again!

Actually, she pretty much destroyed your entire assertion. Quoting the USSC affirming and reaffirming that marriage is a right.....14 times.
For example:

"....our past decisions make clear that the right to marry is of fundamental importance"

ZABLOCKI, MILWAUKEE COUNTRY CLERK v. REDHAIL.
Google Scholar

And in the 'marriage is not a right' corner is you. Citing you. Your source is clearly inadequate to carry your argument. While the USSC is more than adequate to establish that the right to marriage both exists and is protected.

Ok cool show me all the people who have gone to jail for divorcing their partner who did not want one.

Not a "right".

You can post it over and over, but it is not a right!

Why would someone go to jail for getting a divorce or not getting married?

The right marry is not the obligation to. You don't seem to understand what a right is.[/quote]

Says you. The USSC says differently. And in issues of the law, the USSC is authoritative. You're not.

Get used to the idea.

"Marriage" is not a "right"..

Then that means you do not want "separation of church and state".

"Marriage" is not a "right"..

And yet the courts recognize it as such. In issues of the law, the courts are authoritative. You're irrelevant. And the only one you're citing on marriage not being a right...

...is yourself.
Then that means you do not want "separation of church and state".

Says who? Would that be you citing yourself again?

Because one person wanted the divorce, the other did not so their civil rights were violated.

No those spouting it is a "right" does not understand what a "right" is..

Those that want "separation of church and state".

It is not a "right".

Just like you think voting for president is a "right".

Those that want "separation of church and state".

And who says that marriage being a right means you don't want separation of church and state?

It is not a "right".

The Supreme Court and our law says otherwise.

So the Supreme Court doesn't understand what a right is....but you do?
