Should we be investigating more liberal links between consumerism and politics (and culture!) now that we've elected a finance-wizard as U.S. President (Donald Trump)?

What does the Middle East think about our Trump-led 'firecracker culture'?

One of my favorite relevant Hollywood (USA) films is Captain America: Civil War.

Kurt Russell and Tom Hardy, two very popular movie-stars whose work in socially-iconic films such as Backdraft and The Revenant made them 'diplomats of modern confluence' (e.g., Facebook, Planet Hollywood, etc.), were invited to a special celebrity charity event for eco-awareness co-sponsored by the Trump Administration and British Petroleum and held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Russell and Hardy were not friends/associates, but they shared similar perspectives on the responsibility that role models (e.g., figures in the media spotlight) had in discussing energy economics in the new global market. What Russell and Hardy did not realize, however, was that at this charity event, an ISIS terrorist named Ajay Satan was about to strike!

At the event in Las Vegas, many prominent figures and media celebrities were present, and Russell and Hardy came very well-dressed and noticed that the representatives of the Trump Administration (including President Trump himself) were talking about the exciting developments in gender rights promoted by the prominent spotlighting of women in the media and arts (e.g., Nicole Kidman, Rachael Ray, Ellen DeGeneres, etc.). Trump believed that American TV and Hollywood was offering mass audiences great exposure for women interested in using the public pulpit to promote pro-populism dialogue conducive to modern consumerism 'culture.' Russell remarked to himself, "What does gender have to do with petroleum?" and Hardy sternly replied (since he overheard him while standing near him in the crowd), "The world cares about the entertainment industry, since TV ads promoting British Petroleum affects eco-politics, Kurt!"

Russell was somewhat offended at the implication Hardy made that he was not conscious enough to understand what he meant about him not understanding the sensitive link between entertainment and consumer-based politics in the new market. Russell was part of the 'old school' of Hollywood which believed in 'straightforward' society dialogue, while Hardy was a diplomat of the 'new school' and believed in creative and more liberal associations between politics and lifestyle. The American movie star Leo DiCaprio was also at the charity event promoting his eco-awareness website and started making comments on the 'evolution' of Hollywood when suddenly, a masked mystery-man (Ajay Satan!) pulled out a megaphone and said into it (before releasing tear-gas into the crowds):

"Hollywood is caught up in a 'cultural civil war,' which is why people find it either confusing or frustrating to profitably and properly connect consumerism with politics. Americans make arrogant films such as Traffic and 21 about our developed sense of profiteerism-based 'intelligence,' so why not postulate that the anti-capitalism podium of ISIS (focused partly on consumerism-based laziness) represents domestic-values humility?"
