Mike Johnson and Donald Trump to promote bill to prevent non-citizens from voting

WASHINGTON – House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., will promote a bill with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence aimed at preventing non-citizens from voting.

Johnson will hold a joint press conference with Trump on Friday at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence, where the top House Republican will tout the legislation to “elevate the issue of non-citizens voting in federal elections,” according to a person familiar with the planning.

The event is also an effort to rally Republican lawmakers to "get on the team," on the issue of election security, the person said.

However, non-citizens are already not allowed to vote in federal elections in the United States, and it's not a common occurrence. No state currently allows non-citizens to cast a ballot in state-level elections either, according to the Bipartisan Policy Center, though some municipalities may have their own rules for local races.

Why talk about a bill intended to fix something that ain't broke? To help convince the rubes it needs fixin'. After all, His Orangeness would have won the popular vote both times if not for all those immigrants illegally voting for Hillary and Joe, right?

Happens all the time. There are already laws on the books regarding equal rights for women and minorities but the left want to make more laws regarding something there are already laws for. However, in a way, I agree with you. By making laws that illegals can't vote in federal elections, it seems to be waving the white flag, allowing illegals to come here. They need to be stopped, whether they vote or not. Don't you agree?

If one does not vote Democrat, Biden will try and flood the country of people who will.

Bread and circuses.

I'm a little surprised at Mike's willingness to roll over and play dead after Trump sabotaged two bills Johnson wanted to pass. But then what choice does he have? When the Messiah comes calling you say yes or face being excommunicated from the POT.
I figured thats why he is doing this. To try to win some of the MAGA over.
I mean, he cant be this freakin stupid..

Biden said he would sign the recently-deceased Senate bill that would set limits on immigration so I guess you're wrong.
The devil is in the details. That bill allows illegal immigration, just reduces the number allowed per day.
Also,, a Bill will often have rider Bills attached, so frequently it is those attached Bills that cause a "host" Bill to be voted against.

sort of like that crime that isn't there and 91 indictments. Again you spit and it hits you in your own puss.

They still believe what their media oracles tell them about that sham of a "border bill".
