I wouldn't put it past Obama to start a war with China to prevent the Republicans (Trump) from winning the election. Martial law to prevent the elections from happening at all.

Man U neocons are bat shit crazy .

I guess obama could do nothing and to u Would then complain that he's a wuss.

Poor guy can never win with you.

Yeah. I hear he's going to bring back the draft to reduce the amount of balls we have on election day.

Why do you believe that Obama wants to start a war with China?

But first we have to make our own toilet paper...and iPhones.
We can't fight a war with the nation that manufactures much of our artillery.

You didn't read the news reports that our ships are purposely patrolling within the 12 mile barrier China set on some disputed islands. Doing so is an act of war.

The patrols will continue and rightly so. China is attempting to ignore international law regarding the high seas. If they want to take a shot, the first shot, at an American war ship, then they need not be surprised at the result.

Trump wouldn't do anything if president because once his wall is built he won't be able to see out of the country.

Nope, 12 miles is innocent passage, and even then, artificial islands have never been recognized as territory mandating the 12 mile limit.

You were going so well there until the unneeded cheap shot at the Trumpster.

China warns U.S. warship in South China Sea - CNN.com

China seems to be building new military ports in areas previously recognized as "international". The provocation is on the part of the Chinese.
Agreed but the US actions are also provocative. Why provoke China?

Because that's simply not the way a nation "claims" territory.

They are trying to change the regional dynamic and many countries in that region have no wish to be dominated by China.

Who cares...none of our business. The US using a warship to provoke China is dumb and could lead to war...all over a stupid tiny island. Can't fix stupid.

Which means we're not going to do anything about it and they are going to increase their influence in their sphere.

it's actually over the resources beneath a bunch of those Islands, and China's claim to them is one of the more tenuous ones, compared to the claims of our friends in the region, like the Philippines.

China wants to control the natural resources under the ocean bed and the shipping lanes in the area.

Can't let it happen.

As already mentioned, China's claim on the island is un-recognized officially, and 12 miles off the cost is international waters, anyway. It may be 'provocative', it is not an official 'Act of War'. China could CALL it one.

China, like Russia, Iran...and almost everyone else in the world...sees how weak we are now and are taking advantage of it. Our sending the ships through is just our way of saying 'we're still here, and we don't recognize your un-official attempt to flex your power and take over here'.

As pointed out, with how much we have down-sized, we would be hard-pressed to try to respond to military action by the Chinese while having troops in Afghanistan and Iraq/Near Syria, though.

If this isn't one more example of their experiment/philosophy not working, I don't know what is.

Leave the world alone, be uninvolved and the power hungry do take advantage.
