I doubt it'll make it beyond the Senate, but it's a good bill.

Anyway...

Amash, who recently switched his party affiliation to Libertarian, tweeted Sunday that the bill would "correct" what he claims to be an error made by the Supreme Court when it established the doctrine of qualified immunity. Qualified immunity protects government officials, including police officers, from lawsuits alleging they violated a plaintiff's rights unless a “clearly established” right has been violated.

In practice, the doctrine blocks most lawsuits against police officers or departments.

"This week, I am introducing the Ending Qualified Immunity Act to eliminate qualified immunity and restore Americans’ ability to obtain relief when police officers violate their constitutionally secured rights."

There is already state legislation allowing that.

Jamar Clark's family got a cool million out of either the state of MN or the city of Minneapolis....Which they've totally pissed away and have nothing to show for it today.

I think police officers have a right to life but thats about as far as it goes.
I support this.

Democrats look at this as a backdoor to eliminating the police completely. Just sue them out of existence.
