Your definition of generation doesn't fit the context of either the OT or NT. It's a concept of a particular time period. much like the word "day" has been also mistranslated. That also refers to a particular time period. Thus, "dispensation" fits much better than generation.

I am member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe Jesus Christ started the Christian religion 2000 years ago. That church went into apostasy. Jesus Christ restored His Church in 1830. We are Christian but not associated with the traditional 40,000 different Christian churches around the world that teach different doctrines.

All that goes back to the Darbyites and the Scofield heresy. It really caught on during the Dust Bowl and the Depression years among the poor and uneducated. Then Hal Lindsey, who also claims he's a prophet, promoted it in the early 1970s.

the exemplar did not initiate the christian religion nor their bible, the best they were able to accomplish was to have a last supper. they knew their liberation theology, self determination would not be put into script and their life a forsaken loss. messiah is a shallow irony for their life's work.
