Nope. Starting there was the apostasy from the word. The leaders committed the apostasy and the poor uneducated followers were unable to understand from that point on. The Dark Ages came from this. Jesus didn't leave the people. The people left Jesus and reject revelation from Jesus and continue to do so today.
