Braveheart II

That anthem refers to the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 AD:

ENGLISH: 25,000
SCOTS: 8,000
ENGLISH DEAD: 12,000
SCOTTISH DEAD: 80
The First Battle of Grozny was the Russian Army's invasion and subsequent conquest of the Chechen capital, Grozny, during the early months of the First Chechen War. The attack lasted from December 1994 to March 1995, which resulted in the military occupation of the city by the Russian Army and rallied most of the Chechen nation around the government of Dzhokhar Dudayev.

The initial assault resulted in considerable Russian casualties and demoralization in the Russian forces

If you like "Ode to Joy" - why the do you not vote for it?

Beethoven would be pleased!
The French Should Have Given Us Their Manly Guillotines Instead of a Female Statue

I never thought of it as an "anthem."

Besides, there is nothing more stirring than the Marseillaise. Too bad the French haven't believed in it in a hundred years.

2 out of 4 voted for ....

Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau - The land of my fathers, the land of my choice

Nobody but me voted for:

An die Freude / Ode to Joy: Freude, schöner Götterfunken ......

Don't you know "Ode to Joy"?

Really not?

Maybe you just do not like Europe?
And are not interested in anything European?

Bronce:

Silver: okay - it's only nearly Europe - nevertheless very wonderful

Gold: only in this older version - the new official version lost a lot

I know it well.
I know many Irish songs.

But I made a poll about anthems. :)
Cowardice Is the Crime That Enables All Others

"The Rising of the Moon" should have been tragic, like "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," instead of sounding like the Notre Dame fight-song. Just like anti-Biden blowhards today, most of the Irish were passive cowards; the few who would fight didn't know how. Ten Irishmen were killed for every British soldier who died in the the Gutless Revolution of 1798.

An die Freude / Ode to Joy: Freude, schöner Götterfunken ......

Never heard of it?
No interest in it?

No interest in far-away foreign Europe?

just one lonely vote - besides my voting.

For Wales

Really a tremendous interest in Europe

I wonder why there is an extra section here for far-away foregin Europe
