Apparently it's a crime to lie on Facebook

Posting on Facebook isn't yelling fire in a crowded theater. Zero chance of a stampede

100% chance of tying the cops up on a false claim when they have more important things to do.
If cops wouldn't be snooping on FB feeds or paying attention to social media, then there wouldn't be a problem, fuck them.

They should be paying attention to calls for help coming into the station.

It should be a crime to log onto the Facebook in the presence of others and then proceed to read and post.

Sadly, false reporting can be done over the phone too.

God bless you always!!!

If it was her FB feed, she should be able to say or write anything she wants, that isn't an official police report or a call for help, anymore than an article posted at the Onion is.

The article is clearly fake news. She didn't "fabricate" any report. She was a teen goofing around. She posted balderdash on her FB and now the police state is taking this gossip as truth, they got snooker and should have had a warrant and probably cause for snooping her account. There was none. THEY WERE WRONG.

Now they need someone to blame. The cops fucked up, not the school girl that was trolling.

If you post where in the TOS or the EULA where it states you can't post such things on your FB feed, I'll agree with you.

Another unqualified legal expert heard from.

Go ahead, post the EULA or TOS from FB that states you can't post what you want on your timeline, or that your speech might cause you to be arrested b/c the police are always monitoring what you post. Go on, prove me wrong.

I'm pretty sure they had no probably cause to be dragnetting her FB feed just b/c she was joking around.
