Apparently the Apocalypse

is already here.

Can anyone confirm this is LA?
Because we have some homeless camps like this in Houston but not anywhere near that big.

In the viddy there is a spot where when driving the photographer shows the highway designation of on-ramps which identifies the location. Which tells me you never watched the viddy....

You can make out the writing on that?

I sure can't, and I'm wearing my glasses......

Welcome to capitalism.
Looks like a socialist country to me.

We don't want to give the less fortunate and/or mentally ill a leg up in this country.
It is best for some folks to kick people when they are down to make themselves feel better about themselves.

And, they call themselves "Christians".
Christians that prefer Satan and have no intention of living God's word through Jesus Christ. But, that is why Heaven shall have such a low number of occupants that were humans.

you have yet to declare why you think that LA is not the place where the viddy was taken, yet you want to complain about homeless in LA...

Yet it isn't, deal with it you are a big boy. If it were socialism then society would have the means of production but that is not the case at all...
1st, is this actually LA? Let's confirm this first.

2nd, California has some of the most progressive, leftist policies (AKA: socialism) in place of any state in the US, or at least that is what I am being told by all the Californians who are fleeing the state and relocating here in Texas.

3rd, How can you tell from that clip that that society doesn't have "the means of production"? Was it written in graffiti on the underpass and I just missed seeing it, or what?
Capitalism doesn't care about your feelings of social structures or social support beliefs, they care about profit, that is all, carry on. I can remember during Reagan when people were moving to Texass from NY is migration illegal in the US when prices become so high average citizens can't afford to exist? The state with the largest migration from the state is West Virginia that GOP castle of integrity and income bifurcation of Trickle Down Voodoo economics...
So........ are you not going to answer any of my questions?

Why the fuck did you even post here, then?
If you need ignorance you have shown the will to apply it well...If you gave a damn you'd understand why there are homeless to begin with.
I guarantee that I have had more daily contact with homeless people over the last few years than you have, and I know what I know. I sure as hell don't need some self-righteous, ignorant as fuck, know-it-all to try and tell me anything.

Now, since it seems all you want to do is drive by and drop off bullshit and snarky comments, how about you fuck off back to wherever you came from?
Then don't listen to the know-it-alls, I don't...This thread is not about Moonglow it is about a stupid viddy you posted and the ignorance that follows, you have no real interest in the situation because you motivation is to humiliate and suppress people in distress. The US is a capitalist country, your inability to accept that fact doesn't make it my problem.
Complete bullshit.

You think you know my motivation and you are sure it is ill intended; that's just you projecting.
And then you move the goalposts and go from insinuating that those homeless camps are a direct result of capitalism, to saying the US is a capitalist country, in order to try and trip me up responding.

You are not here to discuss anything in good faith; you are just a liar and a troll, driving by to talk shit and cause trouble.

Fuck you, bitch.

Make a contribution to the world you live in....go kill yourself.

I never once claimed that wasn't LA, did I?

Are you ever NOT a lying cvnt?

I have lived in the City of the Angels since the 1940s.

Yes, there are homeless everywhere.

People in nice neighborhoods live in fear that the unhoused will set up their tents there.

Right now, the epicenter of craziness is a section called Venice Beach. The City Council person who represents that area is a bleeding heart who allows the homeless to run rampant.

Nobody knows what to do except to demand money to build housing for them, even for those who do not want housing,

Our woke newspaper ridicules angry residents as NIMBYs ("Not in my backyard") for opposing the establishment of temporary housing in their neighborhoods.

Our mayor (who is termed out) may be leaving early to become the American ambassador to India.

Because it's there.

When we lived in Northern Cali, there were homeless people everywhere. It's a mess with nary a clear solution. (Cept that cool machine Jimmy posted) It's a massive problem that has grown far worse in the 6 years we've been gone. Drugs are the root cause of much of this. I've helped clean a couple homeless camps after the people had been herded off to the other side of the city or wherever. You find things that absolutely break your heart. A toy car. A baby blanket. Shoes that were worn what looks to be many months after they were wore out. It seems to be a problem no one is really addressing right now.

People pay lip service to, but seldom actually get down with tackling the problem. The problem continues to grow and eventually it'll be having an impact on those who are "safe" behind gated communities. Misery will spread if left to it's own devices.

That's not true or fair.
I have yet to see a thread about how to help the homeless, I have yet to see a thread supporting the mental health of the homeless or one that empathizes with their condition...Can you show me where on USMB there is such a thread? The only ones I see are negative, finger pointing political points collectors.
In real life there is more help becoming available but many problems remain.
