Not really. It took a lot of elements to pull off the assassination and the cover up. If any one of those elements did not cooperate the whole thing would have either failed or blown up. Only IKE had the means. Without his clout it could never have happened the way it did.

By '67 LBJ had been President for a lot of years. At the time of the JFK assassination, he was a not very powerful Vice President. However, IKE was still a god politically. Every element - the Secret Service, the FBI, the Dallas Police, the CIA all worshipped IKE.

If Iran becomes more of a threat and grows in military power, they will be emboldened to go after us or our allies. Even if we don't invade them, they may feel compelled to invade us.

Inaction by a superpower (The US), and assistance by another (CHINA) would be all Iran needs.

What should we do? Sit here and do nothing?
