Alan Greenspan was a YUGE Ayn Rand fan.

The operative term there is "was". He parted ways with Rand's way of thinking long before he became chairman of the Fed.

Way to go, Ayn. We owe you one. Your zombies have screwed up capitalism.

How so? Apart from attacks targeting her personal flaws (she had many), what was it about her ideas that "screwed up capitalism"?

Ayn Rand died collecting Social Security.

The Millennials and Generation Z are going completely transform America away from Ayn Rand over the next 25 years.

At that point the current crop of Ayn Rand and idiot Trump supporters will never have the votes again to pass anything conservative.

For the next 25 years?

Do you even have a clue how many conservative judges this President has appointed to benches all over this country?

Dude, you crack me up. :laughing0301:
How many ?

More judges in two years than Obama did in 8.[/QUOTE]
Fantastic ! Guinsberg should have passed the torch. How many ?

I don't care about her personal flaws. Capitalism must be managed carefully. We can't look for every excuse to deregulate and decrease controls.

The Randians who have taken over "conservatism" have somehow been convinced that management and controls are a bane to capitalism, when the fact is they are a key and necessary component of capitalism.

The Meltdown should have taught them that, but they are refusing to admit what happened.
.

This, right here, is exactly what the mindlessly excited mobs on both the left and the right are failing to understand. Capitalism isn't bad. It's capitalism abuse that's bad. Capitalism is a tool to be utilized, not deity for cult worship. The whacked out right wing nutters are kind of like Facebook saying "everything we do is good, even if it gets people killed" with the way they think everything in pursuit of capitalism is some kind of inerrant righteousness. But the whacked out left wing nutters who want communist utopia are just a wrong when they complain about capitalism as if it were some kind of inherent evil.

It's not unfettered capitalism that made America great, it was well managed capitalism. It's not capitalism that has caused our economy to become so diseased, it's abuse that caused it, and the abuse that needs to be eliminated.
Government's not the problem.. people are the problem.

Atlas shrugged is nothing but a not particularly well written science fiction novel.

Next.
Have you read it ? There's a movie.
I've read it, I'll spare myself the movie.

I'm not some sorta masochist fer gosh sakes.

Definitely not science fiction. More like Harry Potter style fantasy. She completely invents a world that doesn't exist, where things that don't happen in real society do happen, and she invents an alien race who behave in ways humans don't, all so she can script her universe into being something that makes no sense in our universe.
Its not a documentary.
Surely you don't think that's what the poster was getting at?

I'm surprised you can type that with a straight face. The one grain of truth that you might grab onto is that most claimed efforts to deregulate don't. They re-regulate, in a way that is advantageous to the current administration. That's about all we ever get. The regime in power tweaks regulations to suit their lobbyists and punish their enemies. Always with damaging side effects in the regulated markets.

Effective deregulation, the kind real free market advocates want, means taking government out of the role of regulating altogether. Republicans never even attempt that, no matter how much Rand they've read. They like power just as much as the left.

Ayn Rand was a mediocre writer. She died while receiving social security. What makes her all the more repulsive is that she firmly believed that you are born into a class and you should know your place. She came from a bourgeois family and her father's business was confiscated when she was 12. So, she was deeply impacted by the 1917 October Revolution.

Not to forget that she also fucked Nathaniel Branden right in front of her husband, Frank O'Connor. She was a lot like Trump, an extreme narcissist.

And also like Trump, an extreme racist. EVERYONE in her books are lily white. She completely dismisses blacks as inconsequential even though she is supposedly writing about how a fucked up society can correct itself through objectivism.

WTF kind of a world do we live in, where you zipperheads think Trump is a "narcissist" and a "racist", and Obama wasn't?

I won't even mention the fact that you idiots love a certain racist person named "Margaret Sanger", whose Planned Parenthood dismisses blacks as inconsequential, and takes pleasure in murdering them before they're even born.

You epitomize insincerity and hypocrisy.

Most CEOs and politicians are narcissistic to a degree, but you OBVIOUSLY don't understand the term. This list describes Trump to a fucking "T".

  • Glibness and Superficial Charm

  • Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

  • Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

  • Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

  • Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

  • Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

  • Incapacity for Love

  • Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

  • Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

  • Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

  • Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet "gets by" by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

  • Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

  • Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

  • Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

  • Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

So many have failed to grasp the personal side of Atlas Shrugged.

Among them people who have voluntarily worked their asses off for "charitable" causes and been shit on by the highly paid executives running the cause.

They can't understand that they don't need to do it. They may bitch about the situation but are so "dedicated" to the cause that they let it continue.

The pillage of those causes for the personal profit of the elite will continue so long as there are willing slaves.

Think that through.

If you're allowed to.
