Arizona court rules DACA students not eligible for lower in-state tuition

PHOENIX -- Arizona's three state universities and its largest community college district say they will raise tuition immediately for young immigrants with deferred deportation status under the DACA program in the wake of a court ruling. The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that young immigrants in the program started by former President Barack Obama are not eligible for lower in-state college tuition.

The unanimous ruling Monday will affect at least 2,000 students attending the state's largest community college district and hundreds more at other colleges and the state's three public universities.

The Maricopa County Community Colleges District and state universities said they would raise tuition for the coming school year.

First word of the 7-0 decision came in a tweet from Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. The court said it would issue a written opinion explaining its reasoning by May 14.

These wetbacks never gonna mow your lawn if they got a degree. They'll be getting all uppity, running successful enterprises and employing people in real jobs, too busy for that.

No one is denying them an education, they'll simply have to pay the rate that out of state residents have to pay.

Wish they would do that here. Lots of people were pissed when Dick Perry sold Texas to wetbacks. Wheels Abbot looks like he is in bed with Mexico as much as Dick Perry was though so it don’t look like it’s foing to change.

My advice to the illegals in Arizona, move to California, they'll roll the red carpet out for you.

Why would they be eligible? They have to be legal residents, which they are not. Democrats think the law does not apply to them.

Dimocrats today just simply do not have respect for citizenship.

Everytime things like this have to be brought before a Supreme Court to bash down is just another chipping away of our Republic. It should be common sense that illegals have no more rights to in-state tuition that out-of-state AMERICAN CITIZENS.

Good grief people.

what's wrong with them going back to their country of origin, since they didn't become citizens, and going to college there?

Because they don't want to go to a shithole school in a shithole country, and they know that in the end American taxpayers will pick up their tab.
