And from personal experience even at somewhere like WalMart when someone calls to verify employment the only information we were allowed to give by law is yes they worked here and are they rehireable.

Saying someone has been released without further comment would not violate that.

The guy was put on leave while the DOE while they investigated his actions. He cannot be fired merely for being charged with a crime.

He did not work in the White House, he worked for the DOE. He was not a presidential appointee, just an SESer.

On December 12, 2022, the Department of Energy updated its website to show that the deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy was vacant.

Also on the 12 the DOE said this....“Sam Brinton is no longer a DOE employee, By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters.”

Which basically means resign or you're getting fired. If they voluntarily resign they can't sue you for wrongful termination.

And getting fired wouldn't look good on his resume, no matter how pretty his dress is.
