Liberals love to use the tactic of "it's not socialism to raise the taxes of the rich to 39.6%". Obviously, they avoid mentioning the sky-high tax rates the rich pay in state/local taxes, as well as all the other non-income taxes they have to pay(corporate, capital gains, luxury, social security, Medicare, etc.). Truth is that conservatives like Sean Hannity have a 60% effective tax rate already. Now in France, socialist Francis Hollande is taxing the "rich" at 100%.

Obama and Hollande are allies. They think alike. Both support Alinsky-o-nomics and believe in Marxist redistribution of wealth. The only difference is the percentages, but we all know that Obama would raise it to Hollande's tax rates if he had the chance.

Hollande is proof of what liberals think - they believe successful peoples' money belongs almost exclusively to the state. This completely fits with Obama's "You didn't build it" worldview.

America, if you want Marxism and despotism along with less economic freedom, continue to vote Democrat. If you want to stop America from turning into France/Greece/Italy/Portugal/Spain/the former Soviet Union, then vote Republican.

Bull crap.

Hollande is being straight on dumb of economics with a hatred of success. Punishing success is a key pure socialist mind set that fails every time it is tried as it doesn't allow the build up of more wealth.
Obama just wants the rich to pay their fair share of taxes.

There's a big difference and the fact that you believe the rich should get away with paying so little(10-12% taxes) shows that you support robbery.

If you really believe what I put in bold, then why would you support moving in the direction of Hollande? Especially considering the fact that many rich people pay over 60% of their money to the government already?

The reason one is stupid and the other is sane is ---> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laffer_curve

The fact we got more revenue last year to close in on the deficit is because we're on the left side of the maximum.

1. Are you rich?

2. If not, how much more in taxes are you willing to pay so that guys like Hannity can pay less?

"Guys like Hannity" should pay no greater percentage of their income in taxes than anybody else.

Then your taxes will be raised to make up for the revenue lost when 'guys like Hannity' pay less.

the concept of "lost revenue" is a concept of a pie in the sky.

you don't count on something you don't have. period.

but it's the leftard way - to rob what does not belong to them

................................

There is a frontier between virtue and vice.

Compassion has a frontier. You are nowhere near that frontier when you take care of people who can't take care of themselves. All wealthy civilized societies do it.

But you step closer to the outer limits of reasonable compassion when you start taking care of people who don't take care of themselves; and even further when you start taking care of people who are happy to just turn themselves over to the ample care of the government and do nothing. For now the compassion is gone and it is being done for votes.

Hummanity is inured to a "subsistence" living...and there are still plenty of people who will accept it for no more effort than the sale of a vote...and the frontier is long crossed...and Socialism, or whatever name it is that the Obamas of the world call them selves...is arrived at...and it is vice and it is surely reached when you have to borrow money form Communist China and Oil Rich Islam to buy all the votes.

Socialist/Marxist/Communist/Liberals/Progressives/Loons, by whatever name---you have crossed from virtue through a strange frontier and into squalid vice of some kind---when you think that someone who is for less taxes "supports robbery".

Surely you can admit to being a Socialist when you think that letting a man keep a little more of the money he has earned "supports robbery".

Wow....since you cited the Laffer curve, then I assume you believe that Dr. Art Laffer is a credible economist. If you don't your argument is invalid. If you do, it's also invalid because Art Laffer argues that tax cuts are crucial to helping the economy and current high taxes put a burden on employers.
