Zone1 Be Thou My Vision, O Lord --Songs of love and trusting in God

Does this one count, or must one be a “true believer” to have a favorite song about God?

1 Te Lord said unto my Lord: Sit thou on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

2 Virgam virtutis tuae emittet Dominus ex Sion: dominare in medio inimicorum tuorum.
2 Te Lord shall send the rod of thy power out of Sion: be thou ruler, even in the midst among thine enemies.

3 Tecum principium in die virtutis tuae in splendoribus sanctorum: ex utero, ante luciferum, genui te.
3 In the day of thy power shall the people ofer thee free-will oferings with an holy worship: the dew of thy birth is of the womb of the morning.

4 Juravit Dominus et non poenitebit eum: tu es sacerdos in aeternum secundum ordinem Melchisedech.
4 Te Lord sware, and will not repent: Tou art a priest for ever afer the order of Melchisedech.

5 Dominus a dextris tuis: confregit in die irae suae reges.
5 Te Lord upon thy right hand: shall wound even kings in the day of his wrath.

6 Judicabit in nationibus, implebit ruinas: conquassabit capita in terra multorum.
6 He shall judge among the heathen; 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lif up his head

Good Night, everyone. May God hold you in the palm of his hand as we joyfully sing about his caring for us and all who gather in his holy name. See you all soon!

Christ said, "Suffer ye the little children." I thought about this song, and it seems deeply based on this sentence/phrase Jesus spoke over two thousand years ago.
Here's the lyrics, and then the lovely song by Karen Carpenter, who died young of an odd disease or condition called Bulimia, I think:

Bless the Beasts and Children
Song by the Carpenters

Bless the beasts and the children,
For in this world they have no voice,
They have no choice.
Bless the beasts and the children,
For the world can never be,
The world they see.
Light their way
When the darkness surrounds them;
Give them love, let it shine all around them.
Bless the beasts and the children;
Give them shelter from a storm;
Keep them safe;
Keep them warm.
Light their way
When the darkness surrounds them;
Give them love, let it shine all around them.
Bless the beasts and the children;
Give them shelter from a storm;
Keep them safe;
Keep them warm.
Bless the beasts and the children;
Give them shelter from a storm;
Keep them safe;
Keep them warm.

Now, if only we could see each other as God's children.... :huddle:
forever and ever

I'm not sure if this was added or not, but this song immediately touched me the first time I saw it on TV. It is the continued search for spiritual enlightenment even after many failures to do so:

Considering the background shows Casinos and gaming, and no doubt, it seems to be a good piece of music, and other than winning the lottery, I have no idea what the man is looking for. Since he didn't find that which he was looking for, the first thing that comes to my mind it might be the "desire" (which he mentions graphically) to win a jackpot lottery that would satisfy his every worldly want.

If he wanted God, the Bible makes it clear we must call upon the name of the Lord if it's a well-lived, caring life dedicated to helping others and a Christlike humility to achieve the Kingdom of God, that we are looking for. I see nothing like that, except the music and an unlikely reachable goal. Maybe his appeal is something he considers good, which goes unstated. If he's a friend of yours, and you believe he wants to follow the teachings of the Lord, please inform him to call upon the name of the Lord. God never fails us if we call upon his name in all sincerity. Mindreading is not my forte, but praising God in song for His excelence in all things we need rocks my soul. I hope all who want to be within the love and caring shared in the Kingdom of God will truly find it and abide by the Good book's Proverbs, and the lovely story of Jesus' teachings and saving grace. He lives. Love, beautress.
