Many only visit NYC, LA or Chicago and assume that is the US. Those places do not represent mainstream America. Chick-Fil-A pays $13/hr in low cost of living states. That is 30k per year with no real skills other than being friendly.That is more than fair, in fact, it is only a little less than what I was making fresh out of college (with skills) many moons ago. If a person lives in NYC and is complaining about not being able to afford it, they should either move or gain some skills other than burger flipping. If all the burger flippers in NYC left for lower cost states, the wage for burger flippers would rise. That is how it is supposed to work, not mandated by the government.

The US provides a myriad of choices, however, we can't, nor should we, help those who don't want to help themselves.
