What is increasing poverty is the lack of a meaningful raise for the working class for the past 40 years, while management received pay increases which amount to 1000% of their wages 40 years ago. CEO pay has gone from a few hundred thousand dollars to $20 million or more for corporations who pay their workers minimum wages. Taxpayers have to foot the bill for the shortfall.

The USA is the ONLY nation on earth where the working and middle class are expected to subsidize the poverty level wages for the lowest paid workers. Other nations require employers to pay their workers. Walmart pays $14 an hour in Canada, plus health care, mandated vacations and maternity leaves - all the things big American corporations say they can't afford, and yet Walmart still manages to be the most profitable company in Canada.

You're being conned by the owner classes. When you have the highest profits in American history, it's a total lie that you can't afford to pay your workers more.

Americans have the lowest rate of personal income taxes in the first world. Amazon is the most profitable company in the world but it pays no taxes. This myth that Americans and American Corporations are being bled white with taxes is bullshit. Record profits, record dividends every year say this is a false narrative.

The reality is that the USA is living beyond its means. Spending far more than youā€™re taking in. You need to get rid of your expensive military, and reduce military spending below 2% of GDP, or raise taxes. Those are your options.

If you want the infrastructure, services, security and privileges of a first world country, you need to increase revenue. Interest payments on your debt is about to eclipse social spending in the USA.

That's not what I said at all. This isn't communism or anything close to it. This is a fair deal for all. Everyone getting access to a quality education happens in every other first world country except the USA. Like health care, American pay more for education that any other first nation in the world and achieve the worst results for the money expended.

Worse, in the USA, if you want a good education or good health care, unless you're wealthy, you'll be bankrupt. You can't work your way out of poverty without a quality education, but if you're born in a poor neighbourhood, you will have fewer resources or chances of getting a high quality education, because the quality of your education will depend on the tax base in your neighbourhood. Your chances of getting into university will be decreased.

The USA is falling behind other first world countries because your continue to allow the wealthy to syphon off all of the income for themselves, while forcing the middle class to supplement the lowest wages in the first world with food stamps, earned income credits and Section 8 housing vouchers.

The minimum wage should reflect the costs of basic food, shelter and healthcare throughout the nation, just like very other first world country. Shareholders should not be getting record dividends while their employees are getting social assistance to survive.

American can't afford decent schools, infrastructre, healthcare, or income for their citizens, while holding the greatest percentage of the wealth of the world, in history. Other countries manage to provide for their citizens, train them, and provide them with health care. Americans are like the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, except that instead of "no room" at the empty table, they have no money to invest in their people, but they have money for the world's most expensive army, more wars than you can shake a stick at, and a Space Force, but you can't provide health care for your citizens.

You people are the wealth of your country, and you're squandering that wealth in favour of money. Stupid is as stupid does.
No wonder your world rankings are slipping in healthcare, freedom, education, and the respect other people show your nation. Selfish, greedy and uncaring is hardly the nation we thought you were.

What if everyone starts off with the same amount of money?

ā€œā€¦. by the end of the first year, some people will have more than others. Guaranteed. Some people, you see, will be careful with what they have. Others wonā€™t. Some people will gamble, others will save. Some will spend lavishly, others will be frugal.

Besides that, some people simply have more of the kind of wealth that canā€™t be redistributed. Intelligence; education; ambition. Drive, as opposed to: aw, weā€™re gonna get what weā€™re gonna get anyway, so letā€™s just stay on the couch and watch TV. Some people will put a little giddy-up in their get-alongs, and will find ways to improve their own lives.

Some of that will be ā€œunfair,ā€ because some people have more and better resources to tap. Intelligence; talent; family. Even accounting for such differences, though: some people will turn what they have into more, while others will not. Therefore, by the end of the very first year (not to mention the first five or ten) ā€œhavesā€ and ā€œhave-notsā€ will appear.

I know what youā€™re thinking. Crap. I thought we had it this time. Fairness! And this return to economic inequity will happen, I daresay, even under the strictest Communist policies.

Iā€™ll come back to that.



After ten, twenty, thirty years, those discrepancies will widen. A middle class will form. An upper economic class, and a lower economic class. These classes will not be dead ends: people will be able to move from one to another and back again. But theyā€™ll reappear, despite the original, radical redistribution of wealth.

So: letā€™s take this exercise further. Rather than a one-time redistribution of wealth, letā€™s redistribute every year. Every April 23 ā€“ Michael Mooreā€™s birthday ā€“ all wealth is redistributed. All wages set by Central Command. Everyone is as equal as itā€™s possible to make them. Even individual advantages are nullified.

Not really, but weā€™ll come back to that, too.



Obviously, that system does away with any incentive to create. It removes any incentive to save; to be frugal; to work hard. Because no matter what you do, what you get is predetermined.

And yet, by April 22 of the following year, some people will still have more than others. And theyā€™ll keep it.

How can that be? Simple. Even state-enforced economic ā€œequalityā€ did not ā€“ cannot ā€“ make everyone ā€œequal.ā€ It can only change the attributes that are most important to getting ahead.

Sucking up to your superiors becomes more important than working hard. Figuring out which bureaucrats can do the most for you, and ingratiating yourself to them.

Using the power of government to get you ahead, instead of creating, making, building, selling. Improving technical or academic skills? What for? Improving political skills. Thatā€™s what makes a difference.

You may recognize a little of our current system there. More and more, becoming a ā€œhaveā€ in our society requires entering the bureaucracy, or getting the bureaucracy on your side.



Even the hard working entrepreneurs and innovators among us increasingly need the bureaucracyā€™s help. Vast mazes of regulations give bureaucracies vast power over both you and your competitors. Government can make or break an industry. Make or break a company. It can increase the cost of entry beyond plausibility, or it can make that cost go away.

In the free market, wealth comes from work. The closer we move toward socialism, the more wealth comes from power. Thatā€™s the difference. The similarity: wealth still exists in relatively few hands.ā€

Nobody has said it doesn't rely on global trade. What we have said is that trade should be mutually beneficial and certain rules should be in place, which is why there is a WTO, an organization in which China is a non-compliant member. Us Trump supporter clearly understand this better than the Democrats. What we cannot have is a global, one-world government with no borders. This seems to be the goal of the left. It is idiotic, not to mention prophetic.
