So, how many presidents would have gone around assassinating those who were an inconvenience?

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing. Who didn't kill Hitler but could have?

Perhaps 9/11 would have happened anyway. US foreign policy has been on the wrong end of right for a long time. How much influence did bin Laden actually have over 9/11? We don't know. Maybe he helped finance, maybe he didn't. He took the credit for it, made al Qaeda a name, but we know that al Qaeda has taken the credit for a lot of things it didn't actually do, just people who claimed allegiance to al Qaeda did them. They used the name to give themselves importance.
