Uncle Tom and black unemployment: Free passes only for some
By Chad Groening, OneNewsNow.com May 2, 2014 12:25 pm

Bennie Thompson, A black conservative is outraged that a black congressman is doubling down on his racial remarks about U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

During an interview with CNN, Mississippi Congressman Bennie Thompson stood by a statement he made over the weekend, that Justice Clarence Thomas is an "Uncle Tom" who doesn't stand up for black Americans.

"Uncle Tom" is a slur toward blacks who are perceived to be subservient to whites.

He also continued to suggest that U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell opposes President Obama because he is black.

Thompson made the remarks to a Nation of Islam radio show in which he claimed opposition to Obama stems from racism because he is black.

Kevin Martin, a member of the conservative Project 21 black leadership network, says Thompson is still upset that a black conservative is sitting on the Supreme Court.

Martin recalls that a black congressman once candidly remarked that blacks would be marching around the White House, if President Obama was white, over unemployment in the black community.

"So why does this guy get a free pass from you and yet Clarence Thomas, who is a judge who is supposed to rule on the merits of the law and not include personal feelings in it – why does he get castigated but President Obama gets a free pass," Martin complains.

Thompson represents the 2nd Congressional District in Mississippi, which includes the Mississippi Delta and is one of the poorest districts in the country.

In a CNN interview (see above), Thompson was pressed by reporter Dana Bash that "Uncle Tom" could be viewed as a racist remark.

"But I'm black," Thompson replied.

"That makes it OK?" Bash responded.

Double standard. We both know damn sure the left see this, but they hate white people, so they go along with it.

Thompson went on to say his constituents have a "real issue" with voter ID, affirmative action, and the Affordable Care Act. Thomas, meanwhile, seems to not be "sensitive" to those topics despite his race.

Martin says Thompson is a typical member of the Black Congressional Caucus.

"In the Congressional Black Caucus, there is no hope and change," he suggests. "All these people do is they get in these districts. They stay until basically they die, or they're corrupted out, and then their family members are the ones who benefit from it all."

While the black community is in shambles, says Martin, Thompson wants to talk about a Supreme Court confirmation hearing that was lost more than 20 years ago.
And of course wee will see the libs on USMB begin circling the wagons.
After all, a fellow democrat, especially a member of a PC protected class can do no wrong.

It's sort of like being Jewish and telling jokes about Jews.
Now if Thompson had defended Clarence Thomas I'm sure you'd be posting on here that he's prejudiced for his own race.

I dunno what you want to do. Thompson's a jerk to be sure, but the govt can't sanction him over SPEECH, and his contituents will reelect him because they agree with him.

And, I don't see what he said as being much different from what Michelle Bachmann was saying about gays.

That's right. White liberals hate white people. We only like black and brown and yellow and red people. You white people suck. So whenever you open your stupid pie holes and don't use the terms African American, Hispanic, Asian American and Native American, we ultra-white, pure and politically correct liberals really get our panties in a wad. Got it?

Is it a racist remark if it's true? Face it...Uncle Clarence wouldn't be where he is today if it wasn't for whitey. And affirmative action.

True. I'm surprised he hasn't undergone skin bleaching like Michael Jackson did.

Wowzers.

Not a big fan of interracial marriages, are ya?

Odd perspective from a hardcore lefty.

I'm fine with them. I posted it because it's not well known and most here wouldn't approve however they won't be honest enough to say so but it's well-known.

The problem is that Bennie's saying that if a person benefitted from AA, he can never say it was unfair to some white guy. Frankly, I doubt Thomas gives a rat's ass about Bennie. I will say Thomas' view of the constitution seems unique and bizarre to me, but that's neither here nor there about AA.

Yet you call a black man an Uncle Tom for being married to a white woman. That's "fine with them"?

Or do you not have a problem with making horribly racist comments about black people? I wouldn't disagree, I -love- racist humor in all its forms, I just find it odd that someone with your democrat sensibilities would share that love.

No, its not. Its racist and was no joke. Funny how racism is accepted and excused by some on the left.

Same way with those "civil rights activists" *cough* *cough* like Jackson, Sharpton, etc, who are always make racist comments about Jews. Or Farrakhan that threatened to kill Jews after Jackson made the racist remarks. Nice!

Hymietown!

A storm of protest erupted, and Jackson at first denied the remarks, then accused Jews of conspiring to defeat him. The Nation of Islam's radical leader Louis Farrakhan, an aggressive anti-Semite and old Jackson ally, made a difficult situation worse by threatening Coleman in a radio broadcast and issuing a public warning to Jews, made in Jackson's presence: "If you harm this brother [Jackson], it will be the last one you harm."

Washingtonpost.com Special Report: Clinton Accused

Its strange how the left says you are embracing racism if you believe Sterlings' wife should be able to own the team, because of something she supposedly said in 2002. But different how Jackson is embraced while being a full blown racist.
