Sounds like another contrived story to avoid going to jail to me.Whoa Asclepias this was a much sicker case than just depression.
Yates was battling demonic voices in her head, that convinced her that killing her kids while
they were innocent guaranteed they would get to heaven. She knew the killing was wrong, but
with all the religious brainwashing and pressure, she was obsessed with saving her kids that
these "angels" told her would become tainted if they weren't killed now. Totally insane thinking,
but that's what pushed her, these "voices" would not stop tormenting her until she did the act.
She knew she would get punished for it, and called authorities and told them exactly what she did.
But she honestly believed she was saving her children spiritually by sending them to heaven while they were pure.
Very very sad, very sick, and this could have been prevented with the proper spiritual counseling
to deal with demonic voices and obsessions like this. Had she gotten proper help instead of
hiding behind a super religious husband and pastor in complete denial of the religious abuse.
