What's funny is that firing both barrels as a warning would leave the shotgun out of ammunition and pretty useless, though maybe you could take a swing with it or throw it at a perpetrator.

Maybe a 20guage with bird shot, would be safer for someone not used to the kick of a heavy gun. Who's not going to respect any shotgun aimed at you, at close range?
