California Passes Law Limiting Each Person to 50 Gallons of Water per Day

Ohhh there's plenty of water. These new rules have nothing to do with necesssry conservation. This is preparation for future global warming.

Southern California is killing the Colorado River

Just don't expect us here in Arizona to forfeit any of our Colorado River water allocation.

Whiskey is for drinking and water is for fighting over.

California politicians watch millions of gallons of rain water wash down hill into the ocean every year and never propose a way to retain some of that...water has become a political weapon in this one party ruled state....they don't want more water they want the power that comes from a lack of water....
They sure as hell aren’t building any dams to save some water for when they need it.

Allright there sportcheck, where exactly do you propose building these dams to save water for when they need it?

Too many people want to live in California. Not enough water.

They should have been building desalination plants on the coast 30 years ago.
From what I hear that’s still too expensive. They should be working on it, though.

They do it in the Middle East. I agree, it's probably expensive, but what in California isn't? It's cost of living there. SoCal is the primary consumer of water from Lake Mead here in Nevada and it's going to screw all of us in the southwest if they don't do something.

Umm, where it flows into the ocean. I would start there.

California still has not recovered from the last major drought, and both ground water and surface water are in short supply. Note that all of California's primary rivers have part of their watershed in abnormally dry to moderate drought areas.

Ummmmm....... do you have any idea what it takes to make a decent reservoir?

8 minute shower - 17 gallons
1 load of laundry- 40 gallons

The left have a train to nowhere to build, no time for water infrastructure.

New California Law Limits How Much Water People Can Use
The article is incorrect.

The law doesn't limit how much water People can use- it restricts how much water districts and cities can use.

that require cities, water districts and large agricultural water districts to set strict annual water budgets, potentially facing fines of $1,000 per day if they don’t meet them, and $10,000 a day during drought emergencies.

If you have a well-and the water rights- you can waste water until your well runs dry.

Really? Have you seen any current pictures of Lake Mead? The water levels are far below what they normally are and are continuing to drop.

On the plus side the reservoirs in California are in pretty good shape- right now- especially compared to 2 years ago.

Basically those against conservation are against saving for a rainy day- or the lack of the next winter with little rain.

There are sites that have been studied and will work...the politicians would rather have the power that comes from the water issue than to fix the problem...it can be done stop cutting the American people so short....Improvise and overcome....

That was not what the question. Where do you propose to put these dams? Specifics please. Remember, California has a history of dam failures, 45 in all.

So what do "conservatives" conserve? Apparently it's not water since you can't get your minds around the concept.

Standards will be based on a formula that is made up of three main factors: an allowance of 55 gallons per person per day for indoor water use — dropping to 50 gallons by 2030; a yet-to-be determined amount for residential outdoor use that will vary depending on regional climates; and a standard for water loss due to leak rates in water system pipes.

Easily done with low flow toilets and energy efficient washing machines for inside. Graywater and rainwater collection systems for outside.
Lol
Who the fuck wants to do that?
Al gore made you guys fucking retarded...

How are you going to build a dam that will catch all that rainwater? Quick answer...........you can't. And, in all the places where the rivers can be effectively dammed they already have been.

I'm not an expert but we have dams now...where did they come from the sky? we built them and we can do it again...the specific site is not the issue that is a dumb question...what is the issue is do we have the political will to do what is right for the people of California....
If you think we can't do it you are the one that needs to answer questions...like why the fuck not? to start with...
