According to the Constitution of the United States of America? Absolutely not. Gun control is an infringement on our 2nd amendment rights. So are universal background checks and registration of weapons. No infringements mean just that.........no infringement on our 2nd amendment rights.

Look, I am about as right wing as they come, actually I scored near the center on a recent test, but never the less this isn't Germany in 1935. Obama ain't Hitler the comparison is quite frankly an embarrassment. Thankfully no man can ban anything by himself. If that becomes the case then certainly we need to take action of some sort.

I am not quite sure what you want the man to do. A deranged young idiot enters a school and murders the second most innocent of our society. And you expect our politicians to shrug it off? I wouldn't do that and I don't expect Obama to do it either. Ok if I want a gun then I am OK with a background check, no problem. But the real problem is that a background check would have stopped none of the recent slayings. So although I disagree with the comparison I can see your point in that why is Obama doing something that will be ineffectual? My opinion is that we make people responsible for their gun control. Lose control and something bad happens then they are responsible. THAT is the only thing, other then outright confiscation, that will help prevent gun deaths.

Along with background checks and holding people responsible for their guns I say we also need to hold people responsible in how they use predator missiles, THAT is getting way out of hand.

You idiots dont understand history. The German people were angry and embarrassed after the WW1 treaty that screwed them so badly. They were poor, desparate, hungry. And that population- many of whom were very similar- rallied behind that demon of a man.

Our population is not ashamed, embarrassed, or anything short of prideful and borderline arrogant. Americans have an extreme independence streak that the Germans do not. Thats why they embrace socialism and factory line work. We are not only not desparate or hungry...would could actually use a nice year long famine to lose some obesity for a change.

Add to that us being the most diverse population in history, and thats proof of why our population would never rally behind a single man the way the Germans did behind Hitler.
