Can Scott Brown Win in Massachusetts?

Regardless of the whether Brown wins or loses - if he finishes close, the Dems lose. The very fact that this race is even close is a sign of how unhappy Americans are with Democratic rule in Washington.

Very True.

And the Democrat Party Machine knows it...

Coakley ad misspells Massachusetts
BY JOHN O'BRIEN

BOSTON (Legal Newsline) - An advertisement for Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley's senatorial campaign misspelled the name of the state Monday night.

After a three-person debate Monday night, an attack ad on Republican state Sen. Scott Brown paid for by the state's Democratic Party spelled it "Massachusettes."

The ad was "authorized by Martha Coakley for Senate and approved by Martha Coakley."

"The punchlines write themselves: Before you represent a state in the Senate, shouldn't you learn how to spell its name?" Jim Geraghty wrote for National Review Online

Coakley is awful candidate. Brown is obviously the common sense choice. Unfortunately the Democrats are currently working overtime rigging this one. So i'm not counting on Brown winning up there. Like i said, even if he wins he will probably still lose. :(

Scott Brown is legit.

By historical standards, he would be a JFK Democrat, and frankly, I will take that any day over this crop of rampant Big Government Anti-American liberalism that dominates the Democrat Party - and to some extent, the Republican Party, of today.

You do realize that the war on poverty programs were a JFK legacy that Johnson continued and eventually passed?

As was the Civil Rights act of 1964, widely opposed by conservatives, such as conservative icon Barry Goldwater?

The right has such a cute mythology built around JFK. Part of their Adopt-a-Dem-and-Makeover project.

You do realize that Barry Goldwater actually was a STAUNCH supporter of civil rights and a charter member of the NAACP here in Arizona? and actually voted for the Civil Rights Act when it came up before? The only one he did not vote for was the 1964 version and in later years saud " it was his biggest regret"

By the 1980s, the increasing influence of the Christian Right on the Republican Party so conflicted with Goldwater's libertarian views that he became a vocal opponent of the religious right on issues such as abortion, gay rights, and the role of religion in public life.[2] Goldwater concentrated on his Senate duties, especially passage of the Goldwater-Nichols Act of 1986.

Who is doing a make-over project here?

Let's be frank here the JFK Administration was not around long enough to accomplish much and is basically known for 4 things, one, the bay of pigs, two the cuban missile crisis, three escalation of Vietnam, and well we all know the fourth one. No one will ever know what kind of president JFK would have made but if the modern day progressives are trying to say that JFK would have approved of some of the things that they are doing, I rather doubt that. in fact I don't see many calling for a balanced budget like JFK did or tax cuts like JFK did, or a strong military like JFK did. Yes it's true that JFK was very focused on things such as poverty and civil rights, but as you can see no dount as Barry Goldwater does not fit the mold of the modern day Republican so then JFK does not fit the mold of the modern day Democrat.

JFK was very strong on defense -as well as initiated pre-emptive operations in Vietnam, and was successful in across-the-board tax cuts that spurred a period of strong economic growth. JFK's supply-side initiative cut short the economic stagnation that was creeping in and ushered in a new era of economic pro-business prosperity.

LBJ then took the increased revenues and greatly expanded the role of government, utilizing the then-dead JFK "legacy" as the means of getting it done. With the cost of war, and the ever increasing size and scope of his "Great Society" government makeover, the increased revenues of created by the JFK tax cuts were soon gone - and the economic flatline that took place in the 1970s was soon to follow.

Watch this video of JFK and it becomes clear that the Democrat Party of then, bears very little resemblance to the Democrat Party of today. JFK was a supply-sider, a social issues moderate, and international hawk.

Just heard that he has a couple of police union endorsements.

WORCESTER — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Scott Brown yesterday accepted the endorsement of the Police Department's two major unions.

Local 911, New England Police Benevolent Association, and Local 504, International Brotherhood of Police Officers, handed their endorsement to the state senator. The endorsement comes one day after a debate in which Mr. Brown and his main opponent, Democrat Attorney General Martha Coakley, squared off. The special election to fill the seat formerly held by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will be held Tuesday.

Here you are.

The Democrats will likely resort to attacking the man's children like they did with Palin. Brown is obviously the superior candidate and they know this. Their candidate cannot win on her beliefs so they will have no choice but to try and attack the man personally. Look for their Liberal Media cronies like the Boston Globe to get in on that stuff too. I think the Democrats will have to resort to ugly personal attacks in all elections in 2010 and beyond. They simply can't win on their beliefs anymore. So look for more ugly Palin-like personal smears from them in coming elections. It's all they have left at this point. I wish Mr. Brown well up there but i'm not counting on him winning. I believe the fix is already in. The Dems will rig this thing somehow. It is what it is.

Sadly, you are right - the Democrat Machine is going full tilt at this point. Running in fear will bring out the very worst in their operative politics...

The DNC's hatchet man is in Boston today.

Here come the negative campaign ads.

BTW in rasmussens' polling Scott Brown is up 7 points from where they had him at last
week.

Wonder when we'll see his naked picture in an ad???

.

In other words, Goldwater eventually became the kind of conservative that the modern day right despises ??

A LOT of liberal people are mad at him for the ad, but you showed the clip in its entire context and now I know Senator Brown's ad was accurate.

Kennedy was able to cut income taxes within the realm of fiscal responsibility. When Republicans learn how to do that, then maybe they can lay claim to a tiny fraction of the Kennedy legacy.

___

You once again prove my point!!!! :eusa_angel:

Kennedy advocated LOWER taxes and LESS government spending.

How far the Democrat Party - and YES, some in the Republican Party, have distanced themselves from that simple and sound economic belief.

If you are and advocate for such - surely you cannot be supporting Obama or the current Democrat leadership who are advocating RAISING taxes, and already greatly INCREASED government spending.
