CNN) The Obama administration has cut ties with CGI Federal, the main contractor on the Obamacare website, HealthCare.gov.

That’s according to CNN.

The contract was up and not renewed, the source said.

The original cost of the contract was $2 million but the cost due to the issues has far exceeded that amount.

The websites launch was a disaster and seen as a big political setback for President Barack Obama.

CGI is the American subsidiary of Canadian company CGI Group.

The healthcare website is used to shop the healthcare marketplace and sign up for coverage.

There have also been questions raised over CGI winning the no bid contract when a senior vice president at CGI Federal was a Princeton University classmate of first lady Michelle Obama and a donor to President Obama’s campaign.
