I wonder how isolated the Spanish separatists are. There seem to be some common themes between that vote and the last U.S. election.
No one I talk to has much knowledge about the situation, and so there's little idea about what will happen. It looks peaceful; they voted, but it seems as if it was a forced vote. Some leaders were forced into exile; not something too common in the first world politics lately. They seemed well (from the limited news reports I read) organized and defended their cause without any military assistance.
